2027 Rankings Update- Our Top Lockdown DBs Across Alabama

With our new 2026 Rankings Update, it's only right that we look towards the secondary and watch some of our top DB prospects across the state!   We were super impressed watching these guys – they all have so much talent and potential at the next level, it'll be exciting watching them this fall.   As always, make sure you watch some of their tape below!    [player_tooltip player_id='1653623' first='Jaylen' last='Scott'] is a dominant S who is coming in as our #2 DB and #14 overall prospect in the state this update.   Scott is a hybrid safety who flies around the field to dominate opposing rushing and passing attacks. He plays with a ton of speed and instincts out in coverage- he isn't easily baited, doesn't let anyone get behind him, and has the ball skills to easily create INTs and PBUs   Scott is also dominant against the run. He flies downhill from the secondary to wrap up and take down RBs near the line of scrimmage and in the open field to prevent huge plays. It's super impressive seeing how well-rounded Scott already is as a sophomore- he has an incredibly bright future ahead.   Last season, Scott recorded 107 total tackles (41 solo, 2 for loss), 4 INTs, 12 PBUs, and one FF.   Earlier this week, Scott flipped his commitment from Florida State to Auburn! He's a talented player with a bright future ahead- everyone should keep an eye on him and this Williamson defense this fall.   Check out some of Scott's film from last year:      [player_tooltip player_id='408641' first='Micah' last='Fleming'] is a shutdown DB out of Thompson who's risen the ranks to become our #3 DB and #20 overall prospect in the state.   "Fleming is a lockdown corner who excels in coverage- he does a great job tracking opposing QBs' eyes and frequently breaks on routes to jar free/pick off passes. QBs actively avoid Fleming's side of the field, he provides such good coverage that some QBs won't even look his way.   Fleming also plays with incredible instincts and athleticism- he is terrific at identifying and reacting to plays, and has the speed to fly around the entire field and create huge stops regardless of where he lined up pre-snap."   Fleming was really productive last year, recording 63 total tackles (40 solo, 4 for loss), one interception, and 6 pass breakups.    Throughout this offseason, Fleming has picked up offers from Indiana, Jackson State, Maryland, and plenty of other top programs across the country. It'll be exciting watching him this fall, he's set up for a huge junior year.   Check out some of his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='646271' first='Trenton' last='McCorvey'] is another dominant DB out of Thompson who's coming in as our #4 DB and #29 prospect in the state.   "McCorvey flies to the ball every snap. He's excellent at reading and reacting to plays and consistently puts himself in great position to create stops for his defense.   McCorvey is incredibly versatile and creates so many challenges for opposing offenses- he can line up and cover WRs one-on-one, make huge plays in the box against the run, and generate pressure on QBs to force them into bad passes/decisions."   McCorvey was terrific last season, ending the year with 26 total tackles (15 solo, one for loss), 2 PBUs, and one FR.   In the last month, McCorvey has picked up offers from Ole Miss, Wake Forest, Maryland, and more. He's a dominant defender with a huge season ahead of him this fall; everyone should have him on their radar.   Check out some of McCorvey's tape below:      Elijah Lanier is a dominant DB out of Anniston who's making his debut on our list as the #5 DB and #34 overall prospect in the state.   "Lanier is a physical CB who thrives off his size, speed, and ball skills out in coverage. Lanier can press WRs at the LOS and has the instincts and timing to break on passes and force PBUs/INTs.   I love how Lanier gets involved against the run- he's great in pursuit and consistently flies down to the line of scrimmage to rack up TFLs. Lanier is a well-rounded defender who can make impact plays against the run and pass- it'll be exciting to watch him moving forward."   Lanier picked up an offer from Tualne not too long ago, and is sure to have more head his way soon. He's a talented corner with a ton of great traits; it's only a matter of time before more teams start calling.   Check out some of his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1635119' first='Miguel' last='Wilson'] is an impressive DB out of Vigor who's coming in as our #6 DB, and #36 overall prospect in the state.   "Wilson is incredibly versatile and can make plays in a wide variety of ways as a DB- whether it be out in coverage, against the run, or as a blitzer, Wilson finds ways to impact every snap out in the secondary. Quarterbacks should think twice about throwing his direction, he's a really talented coverage corner with terrific hands and ball skills he uses to jar and pick off passes around the field.   I'm most impressed with Wilson's physicality- he is terrific man-to-man and has no problem flying downfield to deliver huge hits to the ballcarrier, frequently coming up with plays behind the line of scrimmage."   Wilson was a difference maker all last season, recording 11 total tackles (4 for loss), one sack, and 2 INTs.   Last month, Wilson picked up offers from South Alabama, Jacksonville State, Memphis, and more. He's really startong to see his recruitment take off, and for good reason- he's got a big junior season on the horizon.   Check out some of his film below:
