2027 Rankings Update- EDGE Prospects Dominating Alabama

With our new 2026 Rankings Update, it's only right that we look towards the trenches and watch some of our top EDGE prospects across the state!   We were super impressed watching these guys – they all have so much talent and potential at the next level, it'll be exciting watching them this fall.   As always, make sure you watch some of their tape below!    [player_tooltip player_id='378345' first='Ba'Roc' last='Willis'] is our #2 EDGE and #6 prospect in the state- what he's done for Moody's defense over the last two seasons has been unreal to watch.   "At 6'3 225, Willis is an athletic force off the edge who can hurt offenses in several different ways. Willis is terrific against the run- he explodes off the snap, collapses the edge, and consistently works into the backfield to create huge stops behind the line of scrimmage.   Willis is equally dominant as a pass rusher- he has a wide variety of moves he uses to beat OTs into the backfield and consistently generates pressure and places huge hits on the quarterback."   Willis was terrific last fall and ended his sophomore season with 95 total tackles (59 solo, 26 for loss), 17 sacks, 38 hurries, and 3 forced fumbles (one recovered).    Willis decommitted from Alabama a little while back and recently took a visit to Tennessee. It'll be exciting watching his recruitment unfold. He's a dominant prospect with a ton of big things ahead.   Check out some of Willis' sophomore tape below:      [player_tooltip player_id='828577' first='D'ante' last='Seals'] is a seriously impressive EDGE out of Hewitt-Trussville who's coming in as our #3 EDGE and #17 overall prospect in the class.   "At 6'3 220, Seals has a great frame, impressive speed, strength, and power that make him a force to be reckoned with as a freshman. Against the run, Seals can set the edge very well, easily sheds blocks, and brings down the ball carrier behind or at the line of scrimmage.   As a pass rusher, Seals uses his size to his advantage- his long arms allow him to cross over and fly by offensive linemen, consistently winning matchups to pressure and take down opposing quarterbacks."   Seals has offers listed from Georgia, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, and plenty of others. He'll only keep adding more to his list over the next year, so we'll make sure to keep y'all updated.   Check out some of Seals' film from last season:      [player_tooltip player_id='1610187' first='Marquis' last='Evans'] is a dominant EDGE/DL out of Minor who is now our #4 EDGE and #19 overall prospect in the state.   “Evans is a dominant run-stopping DE capable of making huge stops up front. He's terrific at using his size, strength, and quickness to beat OL and get to the ball carrier, constantly coming up with huge plays in the backfield nearly every snap.   Evans is terrific in pursuit. He doesn't quit on plays and will work across the entire length of the field if it means he can come up with stops for his defense. It's impressive watching Evans' tackling- he does a great job wrapping up and can deal out some devastating hits with how strong he is.“   Evans recorded 45 total tackles (21 solo, 6 for loss), 2 sacks, and one FF/FR last season.    Evans has picked up offers from Georgia, Arkansas, Georgia Tech, and plenty more in the last few weeks. He'll only keep seeing his name get out there, he's a top-tier prospect with even more room to grow.   Evans put together some awesome film from last fall:      [player_tooltip player_id='1530344' first='JiQuan' last='Rogers'] is a talented EDGE out of Ramsay who is now our #5 EDGE in the class after his dominant season last fall.   “Rogers is quick off the edge and plays with a ton of speed and power- he flies by OTs on pass-rushing downs by speed-rushing and powering through the line of scrimmage to get to the quarterback.   Rogers is an every-down defender who can impact the run as well. He has excellent pursuit skills and quickness he uses to cover ground and wrap up the ball carrier for little to no gain, no matter where he initially lines up. Rogers has an impressive motor as well- he plays at a high speed and doesn't ease up at all, creating huge stops in pursuit even after being blocked multiple times.”   Rogers currently lists offers from North Alabama, Eastern Kentucky, and UT Martin. I really like what I saw in his tape- he's a really talented prospect with a big junior season ahead.   Check out some of Rogers' film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='1569174' first='Jeremiah-Steven' last='Beverly'] is a talented EDGE out of Hillcrest who sits as our #6 EDGE and #60 overall prospect in the state.   "Beverly is exceptional at setting the edge and stopping the run- he does a great job fighting off blocks and sealing off the edge, coming up with huge stops behind the line of scrimmage, and not allowing for any big gains on the ground.   Beverly is just as productive as a pass rusher. He has a wide variety of moves he uses to beat OL into the backfield and generate pressure/force bad decisions. Beverly was able to rack up sacks and force QBs into bad throws all of last fall, making him a force to be accounted for every down."   Beverly has been generating D1 interest this offseason and picked up an offer from Troy a few months back. I won't be surprised to see more schools send them his way soon- he's a talented player with a ton of potential at the next level.   Check out some of Beverly's film below:
