While plenty of elite pass-catching talent is scaling the Lone Star State, there is also no shortage of depth at the receiver position. From route technicians to deep threats and all the gadget guys in between, there are sure to be many young playmakers who take their game to the next level. What better place to start than Central Texas, where we'll check out a high school duo along with several other dynamic receivers.

The rising senior out of Austin demonstrates a strong frame and unique skillset. Gary's most impressive trait is his contested catch ability. Combined with a great sense for tracking the deep ball, Jarell is a QB's sideline 1-on-1 dream. During his junior campaign, Gary also showcased solid change of direction and effective use of the hurdle move, which helped him produce 573 receiving yards and 8 touchdowns, and an additional 266 yards and 2 TDs on the ground. A strong senior season will build upon his current 8 offers, which include Texas Tech, UTSA, and FAU.

The first of our breakout duo from LBJ is the senior speedster who amassed 800 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2024. Smith owns a thin frame but plays physical for his size. He is extremely explosive, with a great release, good hands, and loose hips. Smith consistently shows the ability to take the top off the defense and make back-shoulder catches. Javarlyn can add to his offers from Jax State and McPherson by building upon his route tree and having another highly productive season in 2025.

The upcoming junior will help lead the LBJ offense after totaling over 450 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns on a mere 20 receptions in 2024. Murry gets flexed between the slot and outside as he brings an all-around skill set to the offense. He excels at finding pockets in the defense and has a knack for getting open. Murry has sure hands and displays great YAC ability as a very fluid runner. Marquis looks to have a massive 2025 and continue to develop physically. He currently holds an offer from North Texas.

After missing almost all of the 2024 season, Frohock has transferred from Lockhart to Weiss. This change of scenery projects a massive junior campaign for Frohock, built upon his success from the limited time in his freshman year. Jordan has the frame to be an elite redzone target and the top-end speed for big-play potential. While Frohock doesn't have a large sample size of experience, he did make several explosive plays as a freshman in '23 and looks to max out his potential this season and progress his offers from Nebraska, Jax State, and UTSA.

Here is another lowerclassman transfer wideout in LaCombe who has moved from Whitehouse HS in East Texas to Pieper in New Braunfels. With elite size, Carson showed immense potential in his freshman season playing both receiver and wildcat quarterback, totaling 180 yards receiving, 100 rushing, and 5 total touchdowns. LaCombe presents a massive frame with 11.00 100m speed. He is a constant bully at the line of scrimmage, physically dominating DBs. The upcoming sophomore looks to make a massive splash this season, building upon his raw, untapped potential and adding to his offers from Utah and UTSA.
