Midweek Recap- Prospects Picking Up Their First Offers

Welcome to our Midweek Recap- where we highlight some of the state's top recruiting news in between our weekly Recruiting Reports!   Today, we are revisiting some prospects we covered in the last few months with some exciting news- they've gotten offers!   These guys have worked hard enough to earn their flowers, so make sure you check out their film below! You won't want to miss out!    [player_tooltip player_id='1629686' first='Brandon' last='Marinho'] is a talented DL who stood out to me earlier this offseason when I saw him compete at You Are Athlete Birmingham, now, he's starting to see his recruitment open up!   Marinho is a talented DE capable of making plays every down. He does an excellent job holding his own in the trenches and consistently fights off offensive linemen to close down rushing lanes and get to the RB.   I was just as impressed watching him rush the passer. He has great athleticism, active hands, and a high motor he uses to generate tons of pressures and dish out big hits on the QB.   Marinho had a productive sophomore season, ending the year with 56 total tackles (19 solo, 13 for loss), 4.5 sacks, 8 hurries, and one fumble recovery.    Yesterday, Marinho announced he picked up his first offer from North Alabama! It'll only be a matter of time before other programs come calling, he's already shown a ton of talent and potential in his first two years.      [player_tooltip player_id='1643073' first='Malikai' last='Cooper'] had a really impressive sophomore season we watched on one of our Film Room Fridays a few weeks back.   Cooper is a dominant LG who opened up so many big plays for James Clemens's rushing attack last season. At 6'4 270, Cooper has great size and athleticism he uses to create key blocks on the move, consistently pulling across the line of scrimmage and working level-to-level to help pave the way for his teammates.   I'm really impressed with Cooper's strength and leverage- he bulldozed defenders into the dirt last season and has a ton of traits that will help him continue to help him dominate the trenches.   A few days ago, Cooper announced he had picked up his first offer from North Alabama! With his talent, there's undoubtedly more to come soon- it's going to be exciting to watch.      We featured Brown in one of our Film Room Fridays a few weeks back, and man, he really impressed us with what he did last fall.   Brown is a highly athletic WR who plays with a ton of speed and twitch outside. He's quick on his feet, finds tons of separation downfield, and has a reliable set of hands he uses to bring in receptions through coverage and contact.   Brown is also explosive after the catch- once he secures the ball, he quickly turns upfield and makes defenders miss to outrun entire secondaries for big gains.   Last fall, Brown recorded 36 receptions for 576 yards and 6 TDs.   Brown announced on Twitter earlier this week that he had picked up his first offer from Alabama A&M! I'm certain more will be heading his way soon- he's a talented player with a big junior season ahead. Check out some of his film below:      [player_tooltip player_id='401082' first='Camren' last='Anderson'] is a talented OL prospect set to have a big year at Sparkman this upcoming fall.   At 6'2 300, Anderson is an OT you don't want to have to line up across from. He has a blend of size and athleticism that make him a force in the trenches, especially in the run game. It's seriously impressive seeing how much space he opens up at the line of scrimmage for his teammates, he drives defenders off the line several yards to help create massive plays on the ground.   Anderson also has the quickness to be really effective in pass protection- he's quick to react, has great footwork, and can wall off the left side to provide plenty of time for his QB.   Yesterday, Anderson announced he picked up his first offer from North Alabama! After watching his film and you'll see why, he's a talented prospect with a big season ahead of him!      [player_tooltip player_id='383482' first='Zayden' last='Bodner'] is an impressive WR out of Sparkman who really caught my eye close to a month ago.   Bodner is a versatile weapon out wide who can attack every level of the field. He's a shifty route runner who dominates DBs with his speed, twitch, and body control. Bodner is a threat downfield who uses his size and catch radius to high-point the ball over the tops of defenders, making him very valuable in the redzone.   I was also impressed with how he created explosive plays off of sweeps/touch passes- he has great vision and consistently finds the best lane to gain the most yards possible every time he has the ball. It's really impressive seeing all the different ways he can impact the game.   Bodner ended his junior season with 20 carries for 95 yards and 28 receptions for 325 yards and 3 TDs.   Yesterday, Bodner picked up his first offer from North Alabama! It won't be long til more schools start taking notice- I really think he's set up for a big season this fall.
