Brandon Marinho Brandon Marinho 6'3" | 230 lbs | DL Spanish Fort | 2027 State AL is a talented DL from Spanish Fort who had a breakout junior season this past fall.
“Marinho is a talented DE capable of making plays every down. He does an excellent job holding his own in the trenches and consistently fights off offensive linemen to close down rushing lanes and get to the RB.
I was just as impressed watching him rush the passer. He has great athleticism, active hands, and a high motor he uses to generate tons of pressure and dish out big hits on the QB. Overall, he’s a really well-rounded DL with impressive athleticism, great instincts, and a high IQ. We all need to look out for him in 2026.”
Since our last update, Marinho has added two more offers from ULM and Samford. With his talent, I think he’ll have even more schools calling his way soon. He’s a talented player with a ton to offer.
Make sure you watch some of Marinho’s film below. He had a breakout year last fall and deserves more eyes on his tape.

Marinho brings an explosive first step and outstanding lateral quickness that allows him to affect multiple gaps in a single rep. He wins early with his foot speed and initial stab, putting linemen on their heels and creating immediate disruption in both the run and pass game.
As a rusher, Marinho shows subtle but effective hand usage, pairing agility with controlled violence to work around and through blockers. His versatility stands out — capable of collapsing pockets from the interior, generating penetration for tackles for loss, or winning with speed off the edge — making him a movable chess piece across the front.

Marinho is an athletic front-line defender coming off a productive sophomore season for Spanish Fort. Comes in at 6’3 230 with a basketball background, making for an athletic size/speed combo. He has also played some TE on the 7v7 circuit. Marinho is active and possesses quick hands. He does a good job fighting to keep his chest clean, keeping his eye on the ball, and pursuing as a tackler. I think he can shed blocks even better than he is doing now if he brings his feet more at contact. Holds an offer from UNA and is a candidate to add more.

I hadn’t watched Brandon Marinho Brandon Marinho 6'3" | 230 lbs | DL Spanish Fort | 2027 State AL before this past Saturday, but he definitely caught my attention at camp. Marinho did really well in the one-on-one period, competing well and winning reps against a wide variety of different OL- after watching him and his tape over this weekend, I’m looking forward to seeing what he does this fall.
Marinho is a talented DE capable of making huge plays against the run and pass. Against the run, Marinho does an excellent job holding his own in the trenches- consistently fighting off blocks and clogging up rushing lanes at the LOS, making life a lot harder on opposing RBs. It’s also impressive watching him rush the passer, he has a couple of really good moves and can generate great pressure as well as dish out some big hits on the QB. Marinho had a really productive sophomore season last fall, ending the year with 56 total tackles (19 solo, 13 for loss), 4.5 sacks, 8 hurries, and one fumble recovery. We are going to have to keep an eye on Marinho going into this fall- I saw a lot of promising things in his tape below and think he could have a real breakout season- be sure to give him a watch!
