Bartels was a problem for opponents last season, when he produced 25.0 tackles (19.0 solo, 2.0 TFL) and a sack as an interior defensive lineman. His junior highlight video reveals an active defender that sticks with plays until they're completed. Bartels is quick off of the snap and gets offensive linemen off balance. He forces a good push with a strong lower half and active hands. Bartels is one on which to keep an eye in 2025.

Kramer contributes on both sides of the ball. So much so that he has a offensive highlight video and a defensive highlight video on his Hudl page. Kramer caught 37 passes for 466 yards and three touchdowns, delivered 66.5 tackles (63 solo), picked off a pair of throws, and returned kicks and punts. He lines up in different locations on defense and looks comfortable doing so. It speaks to his broad skill set that works on offense. Kramer is a well-rounded receiver capable of stretching the field or inflicting damage on underneath routes.

Harrington is a handful in the middle of the defensive line. You can see what I'm talking about when you pop on his junior highlight video. Harrington is stout and often wins the strength battle with his opponent. His hands are active, and he keeps his head up and on the ball while separating from blocks, which he does well. Harrington plays within the framework of the defense in carrying out his assignments.

Herzberg played an important role as a versatile defender for the Class 5A state runner-up Tigers. Valley moves him around the defense and seamlessly takes care of his assignments no matter where he is on the field. In doing so, he operates within the framework of the scheme. Herzberg is athletic with speed that leads to success. While not the biggest guy, he will deliver a hit when given the opportunity. Herzberg played well against rival Dowling Catholic on the state semifinals, which you can witness on this highlight video.

Jimenez was a force on a Tiger defensive line that helped the program reach the Class 5A title game. He finished his junior season with 30.0 tackles (20 solo, 3.0 TFL), 1.5 sacks and a fumble recovery. Jimenez's junior highlight video reveals a disruptive force in the middle of the defensive line. He explodes off of the snap and puts the O-Lineman on his heels right away. Jimenez is proficient at getting off of the blocks and knows how to use his hands. Power is the name of his game, but he's agile and athletic, too.

Ross lacks the traditional height of an offensive guard but everything else checks out just fine. He succeeds with good pad level, power and leg drive. Ross fires off of the snap and into the chest of his opponent. The defender is put on his heels and unbalanced even if he manages to escape the block. Ross plays through the whistle and embraces the game's physicality. He takes care of business when he's asked to block in space as well.
