’26 Rankings Update: Film Evals for New Additions, Part IV

<p>To the best of my knowledge, I know two things to be true when it comes to player rankings. First, Prep Redzone is the industry leader in state-by-state depth when it comes to rankings. Second, Prep Redzone New Jersey – <em>specifically</em> – is the unabashed leader in sharing our evaluation ranking notes.</p>   <p>In this series you will find our unedited, raw ranking notes for nearly 300 new additions to the class of 2026's final rankings. plays high, yet is still difficult to take down; want to see route fakes, everything seems rounded and not sharp; ues hands to catch the ball, not his body; absorbs hits well; physical blocker ont he perimeter in quick passing game, hands could be a bit tighter; tackling can improve, although he wraps wel I would like to see more drive or better use of leverage; has not shown hands to disengage with blockers; pad level is ok when tackling; need to see more clips of him in coverage, both zone and man; comes to a stop a little slowly; rangey as a safety, got outside the numbers to break up a pass; uses his body to sheild defenders from playing the ball, catches the ball as contact arrives; I think he would make a good college tight end, but do not know if he blocks - ranking based off of projecting him as a collegiate tight end</td></tr><tr><td>[player_tooltip player_id='1572176' first='Dante' last='DeLuca'] 5'10" 210 RB/ATH Don Bosco Prep</td><td>Able to accelerate off of his planted cut foot very well to gain a burst and more yardage; hard to bring down, especially up top; looks like he runs high but has great balance when tackled near the shoulders - a bit of a shorter guy; powerful legs combined with good stuff arm; needs to protect the ball a bit more - saw a clip where he was tackled by the ball and his arms lowered; executes screen extremely well; has very good vision in the open field, will cut across the field more than once on a given play; capable pass protector, keeps working, not a "shot and done" blocker; gets a very good get off most of the time; need to see him be more discipline and not get too far deep in the backfield at moments, breakdown and squeeze; better than average tackler; generates power from his quick, fast get off; upright runner, runs strong though, likely due to lower center of gravity; want to see him lead receivers just a tad bit more; if things are not available immediately, he will look to get loose and create scramble drill situations; do not see him going through his progressions much; ball placement on his target can improve some, to avoid hits and more YAC; want to see more comfortability in the pocket, maybe due to his height he gets antsy?;
