2028 Prospect Watch: Six Athletes To Know

We're well into the offseason, and we're keeping things going ahead of spring workouts and summer practices. Our <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2025/04/deep-dive-johnston-harnett-county-wrs/">county-by-county Deep Dives</a> (Matt Morrow is hitting the Charlotte area while I take the area around RDU) are going strong and we're nearly the end of our prospect watch series. We've looked at almost every freshman in our system, both ranked and unranked.   We're finishing the athletes, the final group in the 2028 class. After looking at <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2025/05/2028-prospect-watch-charlotte-area-athletes/">some guys in the Charlotte area</a>, we're rounding out the class with a look at six 2028 athletes from across the state.    A three-sport athlete, Jackson-Banks looks like a future off-ball linebacker or edge rusher. However, his biggest impact was as a right tackle for Southeast Halifax last season, a testament to his toughness at less than 200 pounds. He flashed as a freshman and we hope to see more of him in the future.     Typically, the athlete designation goes to guys who play as both receivers and defensive backs, but Zoa is an interesting case. He's primarily an edge rusher who can contribute as a blocking tight end and H-back type of player on offense. He had a strong freshman season as an undersized speed rusher, racking up multiple sacks and tackles for loss.     Arthur had the biggest impact as a traditional running back as a freshman for South Rowan, but he isn't likely to just play there. He's excellent as a receiver and has played some corner as well. If I had to guess, I'd imagine he's going to be a guy who gets 10-15 touches a game from multiple different alignments, whether as a receiver, traditional runner, or on jet sweeps and screens.     Booth is a speedy, athletic player who played some on the varsity team in lopsided games. With another offseason under his belt, he should be bigger and faster next season and could have a great sophomore season. When given the opportunity, he played well, so a bit more experience should only help him.     Harvey operated mostly as a receiver for Mount Tabor last year, but unlike many smaller, athletic players, he found his best success over the top of the defense, catching a number of deep balls and displaying good hands and concentration. He has the ability to play at multiple spots on the field and could break into the starting lineup at any one of them this season.     Young players at Rolesville can often find it hard to see the field early, but Rogers did a great job as a safety and punt returner. He works some at receiver as well, but if we had to guess, we'd say his best upside is going to be on the defensive side of the ball. A big-hitter, Rogers plays with skill, speed, and passion.
