CEDAR FALLS - The Back to Ballin 7-on-7 high school tournament kicked off Saturday here at the UNI-Dome. Teams in the 15U and 18U Divisions from around the country and Canada tore up the turf from morning to midnight.

Here's a closer look at what I was able to witness watching 15Us on Day 1:

Iowa Flex

Flex has pretty nice uniforms and a solid squad. It split a pair of games on Saturday, rolling to a 30-0 victory against Minnesota Elite before dropping a tough, 28-21 decision to the Sioux Falls Sharks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1162291' first='Jack' last='Corson'] is at the controls of the Flex offense. He spins it well and does a good job working through his progressions. Corson puts the ball where his guys can make plays.

Maddon McIntire is one of those playmakers. His frame and athleticism are advanced for a 14 year old. McIntire wins contested balls and makes people miss.

[player_tooltip player_id='1656826' first='Max' last='Schmitz'] showed he's a reliable target in the passing game, operating efficiently in the middle of the field. [player_tooltip player_id='1584562' first='Luke' last='Iverson'] is another receiver with good size and athleticism.

Iowa Insanity

Insanity split a pair of games on Saturday. It topped the Sioux Falls Sharks 14U, 16-9, before coming up just short against Hawks WSR, 30-28.

Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='1656906' first='Ryder' last='Meeks'] flashes potential and certainly is a guy on which to keep an eye. He sees the field well and trusts his arm to put the ball where it needs to be when it needs to be there.

[player_tooltip player_id='1324987' first='Roman' last='Nielsen'] stands out in coverage. He broke up a pass to help secure Saturday's victory. Isaiah Perry also caught my attention with his performance.

After that, the numbers on roster submitted to the tournament do not match up with the numbers being worn by the student-athletes. For instance, the other young man wearing No. 2 like Meeks is not on the roster. He hauled in two really nice TDs when I was watching.

Here are the other names on the roster submitted: [player_tooltip player_id='1657958' first='Nils' last='Mullarkey'], Jonas Neighbor, Gabriel Senk, Paul Kaump, [player_tooltip player_id='1699588' first='Mason' last='Wegmann'], [player_tooltip player_id='1602903' first='Blake' last='Davis'], [player_tooltip player_id='1657961' first='Logan' last='Carson'], Sean Murrin, [player_tooltip player_id='1657970' first='Boyd' last='James'], [player_tooltip player_id='1696625' first='Steel' last='Morgan'], [player_tooltip player_id='1581275' first='Cash' last='Varner'], Kavan Smith.

Please keep reading for more information in the roster conundrum.

Rip City & Apex Air

Understanding that there are a lot of moving parts (and players) event to event, listing all of the correct jersey numbers for the rosters submitted to the tournament helps Prep Redzone cover your teams accurately. There were guys that shined that I'd write about and identify in photos with this information. It would be a good job for a parent team manager. It works in club volleyball.

Here are the guys on the rosters submitted to Iowa 7 on 7:

- Apex: Gabe Hickenbottom, Jacob Brooks, Michael Adelman, Brayden Gruening, Boston Scott, [player_tooltip player_id='1699640' first='Keegan' last='Bretthauer'], Khamari Tillman, Will Schweiger, [player_tooltip player_id='1588434' first='Chase' last='Harden'], Jackson Phelps, Taylan Ogden, Cash Guiles, Sawyer Mayrose, Jase Hilton, Jake Purscell.

-Rip City: Samuel Keller, [player_tooltip player_id='1656914' first='Devin' last='Mericle'], Brody Lansink, [player_tooltip player_id='1657937' first='Shepherd' last='Stanton'], Owen Pugh, [player_tooltip player_id='1613504' first='Mehdi' last='Bangana'], Melvon Levy, [player_tooltip player_id='1657934' first='Caleb' last='Carlton'], [player_tooltip player_id='1696154' first='Landon' last='Lensch'], [player_tooltip player_id='1860779' first='Leo' last='Rozz'], [player_tooltip player_id='1617592' first='Brody' last='Beaver'], [player_tooltip player_id='1696951' first='Hudson' last='Rude'], Ibrahim Bidanis, [player_tooltip player_id='1361347' first='Adrian' last='Clerry'], Armanie McIntosh-Clemons.
