There are only five tight ends in our rankings because there is a national shortage overall in the position. I have said it before: the best big in-line tight ends are getting turned into offensive tackles, and the guys who are athletic and a tad undersized usually end up at the LB or DE position.

Keegan has the best physical profile of any TE in this class. He played as a freshman for Liverpool, and although he missed part of his sophomore season, Keegan still put some great reps on what is limited tape.

Keegan's best trait is his athleticism at his size—at 6'7 ", 220 lbs, he shows some change of direction and twitch that you often don't see in the position. He has been trending in the right direction in getting bigger/stronger over the past year and likely can end up around 250 lbs.

Keegan is the type of prospect who clearly has FBS measurables and athleticism when you see the tape or him in person.

Keegan shows good body control and hands on tape, but he is a player whose ceiling far exceeds what you see on tape. Missing time this year limits the amount of tape he puts out, but I'm still very confident he is one of New York's top prospects in 2027.

Prokop is an intriguing prospect because to really understand the full skillset, you need to watch tape and see him live in a 7v7 or camp setting. Prokop has a good physical profile for a sophomore and has room to get bigger/stronger. He is a big target with great length and a big catch radius. His movement skills are in a good spot for 6'4 220, although his physical profile and athleticism will continue to evolve and develop throughout the rest of HS.

I don't often make player comparisons, but Prokop looks pretty similar in body type and skillset to '25 TE Monsignor Farrell and Buffalo Signee Aidan Pedreros from the same league. Just like Pedreros, Prokop won't show a ton on tape catching the ball because of limited targets, but in a camp/7v7 setting, he shows it can become a big aspect of his game at the next level.

The benefit of limited targets right now? Prokop has nearly six minutes of blocking tape in his SOPH year. He has strong hands and does a good job of sustaining blocks. He is excellent on the perimeter against DBs, and as an in-line TE, he does a good job of winning with leverage and body position stale-mating defensive ends.

McCabe is an intriguing three-sport athlete who plays on both sides of the ball. His defensive tape helps paint the full picture, but I as of now I like him more at the TE position as a college prospect. He has the frame to get bigger and stronger, although, being a multi-sport guy, he may not add a ton of weight until he gets to college.

McCabe shows good athleticism on tape, solid change of direction. He plays a lot of DE on tape but has active hands as a blocker, and his build makes me see him as a Tight End.

McCabe is the type of TE just like most guys who lacks targets but can help answer those questions in a 7v7/camp setting for coaches.

Herrern is a little undersized for the position, but as a sophomore, he has an intriguing frame and room to grow. A two-way performer for Bethlehem, he is a guy who I think could also potentially have a future at the LB position, although his SOPH tape shows some quality things at the TE position.

Heffern plays mostly in-line and occasionally splits into slot. He shows strong hands and an impressive catch radius as a receiver. As a blocker, he definitely needs to add strength to his game, but his motor is there, and he consistently attacks guys with his hands—he has the blocking experience with how often he lines up.

Camacho Jr is a different type of prospect than everyone on this list because he is more of an H-Back/FB than a true In-Line or Flex Tight End prospect. Camacho Jr also gets reps at LB and I think you could easily project him on either side of the ball.

I like his outlook as a FB at the next level. He is a physical lead blocker who will put his hands right on guys' chests and knock them back. He plays with excellent motor and shows the athleticism to stay square with guys when moving laterally or getting to the second/third level as a lead blocker.
