We just recently talked about the top returning passers that put up the most yards in 2024. Today we flip to the athletes on the receiving end. In today's article of big time producers at the WR position we will see some athletes who played with some of those top passers, while others put up big numbers while being more of the focal point of their team's passing game. The Classes of 2026 and 2027 are well represented in this article, and the talent here gives us a great glimpse into the overall talent at the receiver position. These athletes are game changers, big number producers, and legitimate collegiate recruits. Let's dive into the numbers!

The most productive receiver that will be back on the field in 2025 is [player_tooltip player_id='1220683' first='Shaundel' last='Williams']. Shaundel finished 2024 with 75/967/6. That was good enough for 2nd overall in receptions, 11th in yards, and he also finished 3rd in receiving yards per game with 107. The 6'3" 170 lbs WR is one of the toughest matchups in the state with his effortless route running and explosive athleticism. Pair that with outstanding ball skills and you get one of the best weapons in the state. Shaundel will be suiting up for Oak Creek this fall and looking to continue to put up those big numbers in the highly competitive Southeast conference.

Another big time producing junior WR is West De Pere's [player_tooltip player_id='1220669' first='Judeah' last='Kniskern']. West De Pere was the most prolific passing offense in 2024 and Judeah was a big reason why. He finished with 57/834/10 as a junior and has the potential to eclipse all those numbers by a good margin with the graduation of a few seniors that put up big numbers as well. Judeah is an impressive vertical threat. He has the speed to get behind the defense, has a quick release off the line, plays the ball so easily in the air and can adjust to the ball and make the acrobatic catch. No doubt Judeah is one of the best at his position, and will be in the running for the leader in all statistical categories.

Junior [player_tooltip player_id='1227832' first='Kavanaugh' last='Weyenberg'] was one of the most heavily targeted receivers during the 2024 season. He finished tied for 13th with 57 receptions, resulting in 566 yards and 5 TDs. Kavanaugh did his damage in the short passing game. Whether it be with his route running, executing short routes like slants or quick in/outs. Kaukauna also got him the ball even quicker on bubble screens as well. Any way they could get the ball into his reliable hands quickly so he could make a play they were open to doing. I'm excited to see how he performs this fall.

Maybe the most productive receiver, when you take everything into consideration is [player_tooltip player_id='1610189' first='Dalton' last='Clark']. The junior put up a great stat line overall with 56/1092/10. That is good enough for 18th in receptions, and 2nd overall in receiving yards. Dalton also led the state in yards per game with an elite 121 yds/game. The go-to WR is an excellent mismatch out wide because he can attack a defense so many ways. Vertically with speed, open up space with route running, and show off some impressive fight to win the ball at the high point in 50/50 situations. Dalton is poised for a big senior season. Don't sleep on this kid.

One of the top athletes in the Class of 2027 is coming off a huge sophomore season at WR. Bryce finished with 51/1055/11 in 2024. While that was only 28th in receptions, his 1,055 yards was good enough for 5th most in the state. That highlights the explosive, big play threat that the sophomore is. Bryce also finished 5th in yards/game with 105 yards. No doubt, Bryce is a go-to WR with a growing frame, game-breaking athleticism, and elite ball skills. With two more seasons still ahead of him I'm very excited to see what he continues to develop into.

The DC Everest big play WR cracked the statistical rankings with his 951 yards coming off of 49 receptions that produced 7 TDs. The 951 yards finished 14th in the state. The big catch radius WR shined with his ability to stretch the field vertically, highlighted by his nearly 20 yds/rec while playing against D1 competition and helping Everest make a run that nearly ended with a State appearance. There will be turnover on the offense this season, but having a go-to target with the big play abilities and reliable traits that Xavier has will be a huge bonus for his new starting QB.

Another impressive WR with field-flipping abilities is Southern Door's [player_tooltip player_id='1704437' first='Lauden' last='Berg']. He finished 27th overall with his 854 yards. A solid junior season for any athlete, but what most don't do is put up those numbers on just 38 receptions for an average of 22.5 yds/rec. Turn on the tape and you see a very smooth athlete that runs silky smooth routes and has the speed to turn the separation from those route breaks into even more space the further downfield he gets. Berg was under my radar, but I will be watching him closely this season. He is definitely a name to know.

Seymour's [player_tooltip player_id='1545262' first='Carson' last='Staffeldt'] is another big play WR in the Class of 2026 that put up big numbers as a junior. He finished with 29/808/11 in just 7 games. Because of that, Carson finished 2nd in the state with 115 yds/game. Pair that average with his insane 27.9 yds/rec and you get a kid that consistently creates big plays, takes over games, and has traits that will translate to the next level. His 808 yards finished 38th in the state; a crazy accomplishment again in just 7 games. I can't wait to see what he does with a full slate of games under his belt. Seymour brings a lot of impact players back so we may even get to see double digit games from the highly productive WR in 2025.

One of my favorite WRs in the state in St. Cat's [player_tooltip player_id='700021' first='Lamont' last='Hamilton']. He finished 2024 as the state's leader in TDs with 15. A number that he accomplished thanks to an insane 3 TD performance on the biggest stage, Camp Randall Stadium. To go with the TDs, Lamont also put up 30 receptions for 751 yards at a 25 yds/rec average. You will be hard pressed to find a more impressive threat out wide. He has legitimate D1 speed and overall playmaking talents. Lamont can take over a game with 10 touches or less. Not many can do what he can do.

Next up we have a sophomore out of Cedar Grove- Belgium. Griffin was able to finish 11th overall with his 12 TDs in 2024. He also finished 39th in receiving yards with 806 yards. Impressively, Griffin put up those numbers on just 38 receptions. That means he scored a TD on nearly 1 out of every 3 receptions he made. That type of playmaking ability will definitely put you on the map. Big things are in the future for Griffin as he prepares for his first season as an upperclassman. His experience and production have him poised for a breakout season in 2025.

We wrap up with one last junior that is fresh on our radar. Whitnall's Max Palmtag finished 2024 tied for 11th with 12 TDs. That came along with 36 receptions for 603 yards. Watching through his tape it is clear that Max is a big play waiting to happen. He wins vertically with speed and route running, including flashing a solid double move. He plays the ball in the air really well, and is able to create yards after the catch. His QB is one of the top in the state, so look for Max to build on his 2024 numbers in his senior season.
