Another day, another set of Gems from Northern Michigan. It does take some digging, but it's always worth it. This time around, we've got prospects from Boyne City, Kingsley, Ogemaw Heights, and Alpena (BKOA).

[player_tooltip player_id='1617508' first='Drew' last='Neer'] had a very successful Junior year with Boyne City, leading the squad to a 10-3 record and State Semifinal appearance.

Drew's highlights are more varied than most small-school QBs. A good mix of deep throws, and short crossers. His tape kicks off with a very accurate throw under pressure to a short crosser. Next, a great 35-yard TD to a fade while under pressure. Plus, it's obvious that he was throwing to his second read. That's most of his tape- accurate throws, many under pressure. One thing I'd like to see Drew improve on is his mechancis. He's very stiff in the pocket, and throws off-balance when he doesn't have to. Plus, he's got getting nearly as much power behind his throws as he could if he had smoother mechancics.

Gavin has some great highlights at Kingsley. A running back in the Power T, Gavin earns a ton of inside run opportunities. Plus, he has the speed to outrun most defenders and the IQ to perfectly follow his blocks. Gavin is more of a slasher than he is twitchy, but Gavin still has good vision and does what he can to cut and weave through defenders. He even has a few good kick returns, showcasing his very efficent running style. Lastly, there's a few defensive highlights, further showing good physicality.

When it comes to Division 6, Gavin is a star player. This offseason, his athletic traits will likely make or break his potential college recruitment.

Caylen has a good mix of offensive and defensive highlights from over the years.

Most of his highlights come from the offensive side of the ball. Primarily playing left guard, Caylen does an excellent job of firing off the ball quickly, keeping his pad level low, and driving through defenders. Nothing too fancy- just old-fashioned hard-nosed man-on-man blocking. I also like his defensive highlights. The highlight at 0:20 shows a great sidestep getting past the tackle, then a good rip to shed the RBs attempted block.

A very good high school football player, a productive offensive lineman, and should have a phenomenal senior season. Let's see if Kingsley can get back to Ford Field!

Great highlights from an off-ball middle linebacker. Eion is a huge reason why Ogemaw Heights had such a successful 2024 season.

Eion tape is filled with inside run stops. The first 35 seconds of his tape show great inside stops, time and time again laying good hits on the opposing RB. Then, the highlight at 0:38 is a phenomenal sideline-to-sideline stop. Seriously great job reacting so quickly and getting in on that play. Eion reacts quickly to the run, hits low, and hits hard. A phenomenal assset to the Ogemaw Heights defense.
Plus, Eion has highlights at Quarterback. Passing isn't his greatest strength, but he's capable. If a receiver gets open, Eion can get it there. Plus, Eion is a very physical runner- especially helpful in short-yardage situations.

A great player who is deserving of a rankings boost.

Greyson has a good mix of highlights at DB and WR.

Starting on defense, Greyson is a very opportunistic defensive back. His tape kicks off with an interception off an overthrown ball at the goalline. I would have loved to see him accelerate forward and try to outrun the bigger OT, but still a solid INT regardless. 1:01 shows another interception on another overthrow.

Greyson's offensive highlights are solid. 1:25 is a solid corner route, and 1:53 shows a great contested catch on a deep comeback route.

A very good sophomore season. A good athletic foundation, and just needs to polish up the little things. Offensively, I'd really like to see cleaner routes. All-around, I'd like to see better confidence and a tad more physicality.
