Even though defensive linemen were not my primary position group yesterday, I still came away impressed with this DL group that I had to shoutout a few names that caught my full attention while in float mode around our Prep Redzone Minnesota Combine in Plymouth. These five names caught my attention the most from Sunday.

A familiar name yet a new name at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Combine is [player_tooltip player_id='1650930' first='Tyson' last='Bell'] a defensive linemen out of Rogers that caught my attention yesterday. The little brother of North Dakota offensive linemen Wyatt Bell, was one of the more intriguing defensive linemen in this 2028 class in attendance, due to his quick hands and already showed off a sound athletic motor when watching his reps. He had one of the faster gets off with his hands during Indy reps that I grasped from the group overall and showed that although still filling out his frame as just a freshmen the upside is there for the taking for Tyson. I will be intrigued to see how this young man progresses in the coming years for the Royals as a few 2028s from Rogers that caught all our scouts attention on Sunday in Plymouth.

The recent New addition to our 2026 rankings and one of my standouts at Sunday's Prep Redzone Combine was another defensive lineman from Bloomington in Jefferson's [player_tooltip player_id='1581358' first='Gavin' last='Grochow']. I saw a great amount of balance, when watching Gavin's reps on Sunday in Plymouth. What stood out to me most was the fire this kid had with his hands as I felt he was more technological sound with his reps then I expected with his 6'1 205 lb frame. Another skill set that popped out for Gavin was from a stamina perspective as despite going up against mostly bigger competition, this kid played with a chip on his shoulder on every rep I watched. The tape is a match with what I saw in Gavin's live eval, as his hands fire off his Defender quickly and with good instincts. I am also impressed with his short area vision he brings to the table as a 2026 defensive end to watch in his senior season who could be a bloomer in this class with his upside.

[player_tooltip player_id='1205924' first='Nehemiah' last='Schwinghammer'], DL, Bemidji 2027 Twitter

The 6'2 230 pounder from Bemidji, appeared to be gifted not just a sound frame but plenty of athleticism that he showed off well at Sunday's Prep Redzone Minnesota combine. During the live eval, Nehemiah showed off an athletic band which set the tone early with the reps I watched and showed off the sudden movement that intrigued me out of his first step as a defensive lineman that was a quick identifier around the ball. He showed off constant fluidity with his movement which at his size as only a sophomore, should grow significantly in the coming years. I already will say that Nehemiah looks like a defensive lineman that will play on Saturdays in my eyes.

The best defensive lineman in attendance, was [player_tooltip player_id='1452200' first='Nehemiah' last='Ombati'] in the 2027 class out of Waconia as all our PRZ Scouts were very impressed with this young man on Sunday in Plymouth. Nehemiah plays with wiery athleticism that you could gauge has a well-versed football IQ that still is developing as just a sophomore. He was one of the most balanced from a technique perspective amongst the defensive line group in the entire combine as Nehemiah was violent yet composed with his get off hands and showed off a big motor when processing downhill. Our DL2 in the class of 2027 in Minnesota, surely in my eyes looks like an early offer target at 6'4 280 pounds to know at the Division 1 level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1642211' first='Zivad' last='Robinson'], DL, Minneapolis Camden 2027 Twitter

Zivad might have been a sleeper new to our radar a few weeks back prior to the LOS Big Dawgs Camp, but that certanly is no longer the case, as this young man had an excellent performance at our Prep Redzone Minnesota Combine on Sunday in Plymouth. The grueling leverage that Zivad gets with his hands was on full display in the live reps I watched, as I felt even from a couple weeks ago, his release of his hands off the defender has gotten even more effective for the legit 6'4 265 pound defensive lineman out of Minneapolis Camden. I always say the live reps do the justice for any young man during camps to play at the next-level as that has certainly been the case for Zivad this spring as one that keeps getting better every live eval [player_tooltip player_id='1292679' first='Oliver' last='West'] and I have gotten even in just the last few weeks.
