Deep Dive: Gaston/Cleveland County Defensive Linemen

This will feature Gaston and Cleveland County Defensive Linemen.   <figure class="wp-block-image aligncenter size-large"><img src="https://prepredzone.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2025/04/CFI-Top-5s-4.png?w=1024" alt="" class="wp-image-1659979" /></figure>    I really enjoyed studying Quamell's film - he is a complete player in my eyes that should be getting a lot more attention, in my opinion. There is a play where he splits a double team and makes a tackle in the backfield on a running play that really cinched his #1 spot in this ranking for me. Quamell also does a good job of working moves and rushing the passer from his position. I think he can play inside or on the edge in his role, and he should be seeing some college interests come his way.     Noah, I think, ultimately is more of an EDGE prospect here, but playing that role, he does a good job of turning the short corner in his pass rush to get to the quarterback. Noah does this with a nice get-off and excellent speed. When plays are run at him, Noah does a good job of keeping contain and forcing the play back inside. With continued growth going into camp season, Noah should start seeing some college interest.     The big thing I like about Amari is his athleticism for his size. There are multiple occasions on film where he is chasing plays down from behind with hustle and effort. At the snap, Amari does a good job of getting off the ball and disengaging from blocks - especially in the running game. Amari can do this from any technique 0-4 in my opinion on the defensive line. I think he could play some end in a 3-man front also, but his strength and quickness combo are what's leading the charge to the college interest he is receiving right now.     I saw Jason play live in person toward the end of the season last year, and I love his quickness off the football first and foremost. When you're a shorter d-line prospect, you have to have something special, and that's what he has. Jason had a big year with 83 total tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and 17 sacks. That kind of production will be essential again next year for the Raptors, and if Jason has a good start to the year, he should see college interest come his way for sure.     Christian is probably more of an EDGE prospect, but with his frame and quickness, he shows some good potential in that role. Christian played a more read-and-react role in the Red Raiders' defense, which I thought was interesting, but when he was allowed to go after the quarterback, Christian flashed some good pass-rush ability and speed. With two more years to go, the potential is high for this young man to jump on some college football programs' radars.    Other Defensive Linemen To Watch   AJ Davis - Crest - AJ does a good job of getting after the quarterback and maintaining edge integrity from his defensive line position.   [player_tooltip player_id='1607752' first='Jordan' last='Littlejohn'] - Kings Mountain - Jordan is an aggressive player who shows some good ability to shoot gaps and cause havoc in offensive backfields.
