It was a fantastic weekend for both me and Captain Conan.

It was a weekend filled with WrestleMania moments, memorable baseball games, and the start of the NHL playoffs.

Here is a “Coverage Club” report on five Kansas athletes who also made some news over the weekend or hope to make some headlines at camps in May and June.

[player_tooltip player_id='904436' first='Augie' last='Fast'], RB, 6'0”, 180, Wichita Northwest, ‘26

Fast announced on social media that he had received an offer to play football at Drake University. Fast is ranked No. 66 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. Fast rushed for 1,745 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Grizzlies during his junior campaign. He also caught six balls out of the backfield for Northwest. He has solid field instincts and allows his blockers to open up holes for him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1660346' first='Griffin' last='Baker'], WR, 6'3”, 190, Wichita Northwest, ‘26

Fast was not the only Grizzly prospect to get an offer from the Drake Bulldogs. Baker, an unranked wideout, also got an offer from the Bulldogs' staff. Baker made 24 receptions for 370 yards and five touchdowns last fall. This is one of the great things about social media, Baker was nowhere on my radar, until I saw on social media that he and Fast had both gotten offers. It also reminds me just how expansive Kansas is and how, despite all efforts, we still miss athletes on our Prep Network sites.

[player_tooltip player_id='780500' first='Carter' last='Hajek'], ATH, 6'0”, 210, Nemaha Central, ‘26

Connecting the dots with the Kansas is expansive thought; the Captain can't wait to meet Hajek. The Nemaha Central prospect is expected to participate in a testing event on June 7 in Seneca. I have seen him on video, checked out his stats more times than I would like to admit, but have yet to meet the young man. He has recorded back-to-back 2,000-plus yard rushing seasons. He also threw for 1,143 yards last season. I have planned this summer to see a couple of my favorite MLB pitchers this season for the first time, but I am almost as excited to see Hajek work out. Hajek is ranked No. 9 overall by Prep Redzone and is one of the highest-ranked uncommitted athletes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1403609' first='Arley' last='Morrell'], TE/DE, 6'6”, 200, Pratt, ‘26

Morell is a multi-sport athlete who announced that he has an offer to play football for Western Kentucky. He recorded 49 tackles, four quarterback sacks, and 14 tackles for lost yards in nine games for the Greenbacks. On the offensive side of the ball, he made 19 receptions for 446 yards and four touchdowns. He also toted the rock 16 times for 107 yards. He is ranked No. 216 overall and should jump up the rankings during the next round of updates.

[player_tooltip player_id='1660098' first='Brayden' last='Reeves'], OL/DL, 5'7”, 215, Pleasanton, ‘26

Reeves is an unranked lineman who has registered to participate at the McPherson College Camp on May 24. He recorded 12 tackles for the Blu-Jays last season. He recently took a visit to Loras College, a Division III program in Dubuque, Iowa.
