This offseason, we're taking a look at some of the players sitting just outside our rankings. Our watchlist check-in series looks at those players who often just need an opportunity. These rising juniors have been injured, stuck behind others on the depth chart, or just don't quite have enough varsity film to be ranked. But they're close, and many will enter the rankings this year.

Here, we're looking at five quality offensive linemen who could start this season and raise their stock.

Jaynes hasn't quite broken into the rotation on the interior of Millbrook's stout offensive line, but the upside is there and he's a guy who could thrive once presented an opportunity. A powerfully-built lineman, he has the strength to blow defenders off the line of scrimmage, while maintaining the athleticism needed to pull.

Wells hasn't quite figured out where his best position is, as he's powerful like an offensive lineman, but has the size and quickness of an edge rusher. He played most of his sophomore year as a right tackle and flashed great run-blocking ability. With a bit more weight, he's a guy whose pad level and leverage make him an ideal candidate for the offensive line.

Powell is at his best while pulling and that's something we love to see from guards. Jordan thrived with counter and power last season, largely because Powell's athleticism and power were on full display. He got better as the season went on and is approaching the ideal height and weight for an interior guy. As a right guard, his leg drive and pad level stand out.

Norris is currently a watchlist offensive lineman, but he may end up in the rankings as a tight end. He has great size and length, but the athleticism stands out. While he hasn't quite broken into the rotation as a football player, he's a solid forward on the basketball court. That athleticism should serve him well, no matter which football position becomes his best.

The first trait that comes to mind when evaluating centers isn't usually nastiness, but Martin has a mean streak that is clear on film. He routinely bullies defensive tackles, even those bigger than him. Martin is an excellent run blocker and though he can occasionally get off-balance in pass protection, his upside is enormous. Incredibly intelligent on the field and in the classroom, the film shows me a guy who could play in a high-academic Division II or even Division I conference.
