You Are Athlete Camp: The 2026 Offensive Standouts

This past weekend I had the pleasure of being invited to cover the prestigious "You Are Athlete" Football camp in Kansas City Missouri. I will say it was one of the best run camps I have ever had the pleasure to be a part of. Every single coach that was in attendance showed a lot of energy and passion when coaching these athletes and I'm grateful that i had the opportunity to be in attendance for this camp.   That said, the talent on display this past weekend was off the charts. The hardest part of the whole experience was choosing which athlete I wanted to cover first this week. I was able to narrow down the first six I wanted to do but let me reassure you there are plenty more that I definitely will be talking about next week.    [player_tooltip player_id='1125417' first='William' last='Ray'] might have had the best day at the You Are Athlete camp.   Severely underrated is Mr. [player_tooltip player_id='1125417' first='William' last='Ray'] out of Lee Summit North High School. After this past weekend, he should get all the attention he deserves because he had an absolutely incredible camp. In 1on1's I dare to say I don't think he lost one single rep. He was getting called out left and right by coaches and players on a regular basis and it didn't matter who was in front of him the ball ended up in his hands. He's a big body type of receiver at 6'2 217 with some flexibility to play tight end. Although he has a big frame, he carries it so incredibly well that he glides when he's running his routes. With soft hands to go along with great route running he is also just a great kid that's willing to put in the work.   Ray surprised me when he told me he hadn't received any offers, he needs some now because of how talented he really is. After this past weekend that should change.      Calm, Cool and collected is Hunter Humphrey.   Sometimes when you study Quarterbacks you want to see how they handle adversity. Playing quarterback, you're not always going to have great days throwing the football. You want to see how they ended the day, not how they started. Humphrey didn't have the best of days to start the camp but towards the end of 1on1's and 7v7's he started to find his groove. He was firing on all cylinders once he let his nerves settle just a little bit, and that's the type of quarterback that I want under center for me. Humphrey has a live arm to go along with pinpoint accuracy. He also moves very well in the pocket.   I left Kansas City very impressed with Humphreys poise.      [player_tooltip player_id='1581449' first='Dayne' last='Clark'] needs more recognition regardless of where he plays.   Seeing as though I live in Missouri and usually only cover Missouri football players, I wasn't familiar with [player_tooltip player_id='1581449' first='Dayne' last='Clark']'s game. After this past weekend, he has earned a fan in me because this kid can flat-out play some football. During the 1-on-1 session, he quickly made his presence felt using his big frame to shield defensive backs from the ball and plucking it out of the air. I dare to say he was probably the hardest-working player on the field this past weekend. I also love the young man's character he was always encouraging his fellow campmates the whole camp.   Any college would be glad to have Clark on their roster.      William Mcelroy has a nasty demeanor that you love to see.   When you're at these camps sometimes it's hard to scout offensive linemen because there aren't any pads. It didn't matter the equipment for Mcelroy because he was throwing his weight around in camp. While playing with a real nasty streak he also showcased the ability to move very well through drills. During the final 5v5 portion he was outstanding stonewalling defensive lineman over and over again.   Mcelroy has a very bright future ahead of him.      Martin can change directions on a dime.   I was thoroughly impressed with the way that Martin performed this past weekend. Standing at 5'7 175 pounds he's a stout runner with a low center of gravity that makes it very hard for defenders to get a hand on him. During the competition portion of camp he made quick work out of would-be tacklers by making sure he played at his pace. He was never pressured to speed up or slow down during 1v1's he always stayed under control and played at his pace and his pace only.   Everyone should keep a close eye on martin this upcoming season.      Bryce Clayborn is a route-running technician.   I would dare to say I witnessed the best route-running wide receiver in camp this past weekend in Kansas City. Clayborn made it extremely difficult to ignore just how smooth a football player he was in 1v1 drills. It seemed like he always lined up with a plan in mind as to how he was going to get separation from the DB. Clayborn is also a very natural hands catcher; he doesn't allow the ball to get into his chest and he plucks the ball out of the air at the highest point possible.   I'm excited about what he has in store this upcoming football season.
