Flashback to this time two years ago, Coach Greg Hopkins and company raved about the at-the-time freshman [player_tooltip player_id='505856' first='Messiah' last='Hampton'], who spent the entire weekend dominating competition. I had a first-hand look at the Monroe junior before he developed into the bonafide star in the recruiting world that he is today.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Flash forward to this weekend, Hampton now stands as one of the more sought-after pass-catchers in the entire country. Official visits with Oregon, Ohio State, Miami, and USC, a recent offer and heat coming from Notre Dame, with Penn State still looming as a hopeful candidate. If Hampton shows up to this event, it would be worth the trip from Philly ten times over. Apparently, Brumfield II impresses even without the offers or early recruiting fanfare. My colleague and NY lead Caleb Holfoth noted Brumfield as a name to know among freshman New Yorkers before the Big10 program offered him. I'm unaware of his current recruiting situation, yet I distinctly remember McKenzie-Baker impressing in years past, in settings just like the one he'll be in this coming weekend. Montgomery Jr. has an extreme amount of talent that jumps off the tape. Crashes at the ball carriers with explosiveness and an aggressive tackle ability were present. The pass coverage ability was a major standout as his lateral agility granted him an outstanding capability in zone coverage.
