Here’s another name I remember after watching CTC throughout the years.

will be the fourth James Monroe prospect mentioned in this piece, I promise I have no ties to the program, they are that loaded.
5’9, 160 pounds, currently ranked as a Top 15 DB in the state of New York, has dated offers out of Campbell and Buffalo, unlikely that those still hold true now yet worth mentioning. I’m unaware of his current recruiting situation, yet I distinctly remember McKenzie-Baker impressing in years past, in settings just like the one he’ll be in this coming weekend. A senior, one nearly inside the 2025 Top 100 (NY 2025), McKenzie-Baker won’t catch me off-guard any longer, I’m fully expecting him to work and make an impact at DB in this one.

, is one of the top man coverage cornerbacks in New York. He may be more of a nickel at the next level due to his size, but he is really sticky in man coverage. He shows fluid hips and the ability to close on the ball with some explosiveness. He has consistently shown quality ball skills throughout his varsity seasons.

. This is a CB that can do it all and even showed flashes of being able to play at the WR spot. The ability to be left on an island and being able to play in zone schemes stood out tremendously on tape. Many times, McKenzie-Baker showed his pure physicality on WRs at both the LOS and before the breaking point of routes. Being able to come up and lay the hammer down on the ball carrier was also a huge point of emphasis on McKenzie-Baker’s tape. The pure lateral quickness to change direction allowed McKenzie-Baker to come away with many INTs. It almost looked like he was the designated WR on some of the interceptions because he was there so quickly. McKenzie-Baker does stand in at 5’9 and weighs 160-pounds. It will be an interesting senior season for McKenzie-Baker to put on display this fall.

had the INT of the tournament early on when he played a go route perfectly in coverage, got his head back to the ball, and made an incredible play with the INT. Outside of that McKenzie-Baker was not often targeted and for good reason, the guys he covered were rarely open. McKenzie-Baker showcased some really impressive man coverage skills where mirrored WRs very well.

has now three seasons of varsity experience. McKenzie-Baker spent the first two at UPrep and now is playing for Monroe in Rochester. McKenzie-Baker has an offer from Buffalo but the well-rounded ATH/Defensive Back has barely even scratched the surface of his potential. One of the best coverage corners and athletes in New York McKenzie-Baker does a great job of mirror receivers and disrupting the catch point. Overall, McKenzie-Baker does not get a ton of oppurtunities to showcase his ball skills because he is not often targeted but his tape shows the skills teams want at the next level.
