PRZ 7v7 Steel City: Team Hawk Em 18u

<p>Team Hawk Em was one of the lone teams at the Steel City 7v7 Tournament that repped Jersey and I was able to catch a few games throughout the two days - I was really impressed with a lot of guys on their team but they easily had one of the best younger guys performing at the 18u level in 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='833951' first='Amari' last='Jones'] out of Seton Hall Prep. </p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Team MVP</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Jones was one of my favorite players all tournament. He flashed high-level athleticism all weekend. I thought his twitch and quickness stood out. His ability to use those traits in his route running and separation was excellent. There were not a ton of reps showcasing long speed, but they could separate on crossing routes. They were the ideal target to attack the middle of the field in 7v7. </p>   <p>There were not many chances for true jump ball or contested catch situations, but he showed strong hands all weekend, he relies on his hands not his body, even when ball placement is right on his chest, and he did on a few occasions show good vertical and strong focus when making catches outside his frame. </p>   <p>There were a lot of really strong performances but for a non-QB hard to argue that Jones was one of, if not the best 2028 at the 18u level. </p>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Other Standouts</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Clark played mostly SAF for Hawk Em - he showed some of the best defensive instincts of any prospect at the tournament, there were some clear athletic traits that stood out, but there also was several standout plays that although may not have resulted in INTs or PBUs were able to close passing lanes before they came open. I thought he flashed some good range and when the opportunities arose showed good ball skills. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Prichard made some of the biggest plays when Hawk Em needed to score on day 2 of the tournament. He excelled making tough catches down the field, tracking the ball really well, and making some strong contested catches. Though the sample size of reps I caught was mostly on fade routes or deeper concepts, I thought he was an excellent route runner. His change in tempo and change of direction stood out. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Jackson stood out to both myself and PRZ [player_tooltip player_id='1156407' first='Vic' last='Castillo'] when Hawk Em was on the field - I thought he was sticky in coverage. Jackson also flashes some strong ball skills, he did a good job closing on comeback and curl routes. Jackson was a solid two-day performer that was not targeted much in the games I saw because of the coverage he was able to showcase. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Hanks is a player who made some plays at very opportune times, although the volume for him this weekend was not too crazy. I thought he showed some of the best hands all weekend. Showed the ability to snatch the ball out of the air, hand catcher, and tuck and turn up field quickly. Several reps throughout the tournament where his hands stood out. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Butka did a really solid job of getting the ball to a whole team of targets and not being hyper focused on one or two players throughout the tournament. I thought his touch throws were impressive, he showed some accuracy when he had to push the ball down the field and did a good job of targeting the middle of the field 10+ yards beyond the LOS.
