Campbell's season was nothing short of spectacular with how he performed and looked. His frame has come a long way from the tall skinny kid he was entering high school. He's a sound athlete who can flip his hips and run with ease. He likes contact and seeks to make big hits when possible. His 163 tackles will be hard to beat, so it'll be about consistency in years 3 and 4 showcasing that it wasn't a fluke.

We came across Earvin right towards the end of the season and liked what we saw. He's a young DB with confidence and some pep in his step. As the season went on he began to trust what he saw as he got a feel for the speed of the HS game. He can play man and zone coverage as well as wrap up in the open field. I'd like to see his frame develop over the next few years, but where he is now is a promising sign.

Hayworth was in on a few Varsity games this year and made his first handful of plays. He's got great length and closing speed which should really benefit him in the coming years. I could see him moving up into the second level of the defense. He's got enough strength and length to have success there as well, but time will tell.

It was a slower start for Loveless but he's gotten on the field and proved to be a needed piece this year. He got some work as a sophomore before starting 9 games this year where he put up 41 tackles and a pair of passes deflected. He has a good backpedal and can cut downhill to close on a route quickly. He's come a long way since his freshman year and he should be a senior leader for Homestead next fall because he's earned it the hard way.

Cravens is a 3-year full-time starter going into year 4 with 2 full workloads. Each year defensively he's been as consistent as you can imagine. 88 tackles, 89 tackles, and 86 tackles in each of his first 3 years. He's got a handful of interceptions, fumbles, and passes deflected each year as well. He's such a good athlete that he then became the starting back this year and rushed for over 1000 yards. Cravens has been a workhorse for Sheridan since his freshman year and they're going to miss him when he leaves.

Surry is an explosive athlete that Luers has put all over the field. He's touched the ball in all 3 phases of the game in all 3-years. While he hasn't put up huge numbers, being used on offense, defense, and returning kicks effectively speaks volumes to me. I like efficient players who make the most of their opportunities because it usually points to more being behind that door. I'm impressed with Surry and the opportunities he's taken advantage of.
