He dusted off his club, shield, and cape to show some spring love to five athletes.

It's the best day in the sports world: Opening Day in Major League Baseball, the first day of the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA Tournament, and NHL teams are making their push for the playoffs. However, before his sports-filled afternoon, the Captain decided to feature five Kansas athletes who have not seen a ton of coverage on Prep Redzone.

Schwarz is currently ranked No. 16 overall in the Kansas Class of 2026. He rushed for 2,305 yards and 26 touchdowns last fall for the Buffaloes. In three seasons, he has rushed for 4,983 yards and 63 touchdowns. Schwarz can do some serious damage running between the tackles and has break-away speed. He is a tough back who is willing to lower his shoulder and bulldoze over tacklers. He can also play linebacker and has three seasons with 50-plus tackles. His speed and toughness play on either side of the ball.

Godar is a thick-legged offensive lineman ranked No. 99 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas. He can play center or guard. He is a consistent snapper and protects the A gap well. I like both his run and pass blocking skills. He has a good first punch and keeps his hands inside.

Dorsey had a solid sophomore season for the Eagles. He is ranked No. 23 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. He threw for 890 yards and rushed for 414 yards last fall. He is a three-sport prospect who also plays baseball and basketball. He is a shutdown defender on the hardwood and a future field general in training on the gridiron.

Winsor is a young lineman college coaches should get acquainted with. He played left tackle for the Wildcats last season. He is strong, like a baby rhino, and can clear guys out of gaps. Defensively, he is built to play as an interior lineman. He finished with 23 tackles last fall and eats up space, creating open lines for his backers to get to ball carriers.

Byers is a big back, and watching his film makes me want to catch a Pirates game next fall. He is ranked No. 109 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. He rushed for 561 yards and nine touchdowns as a sophomore. He also made 12 receptions out of the backfield. I like what he brings as a receiver. It would not surprise me if he gets some looks by college programs who would like to move him to wideout or tight end. Regardless of where he lines up, he creates match-up problems for defenses in the red zone.
