Expert Analysis
Jeremy Deckard | Prep Redzone Scout
I watched Byers post impressive rushing numbers on the ground in a Week One win over Seaman. He kept the pedal to the metal all season long, gaining 1,197 yards rushing in 10 games played. He scored 21 rushing touchdowns for the Pirates and caught two balls for touchdowns. He finished the season with 16 receptions for 237 yards. He is ranked No. 19 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027 and has accumulated 2,224 all-purpose yards in the past two seasons.

Byers is a big back, and watching his film makes me want to catch a Pirates game next fall. He is ranked No. 109 overall in the Kansas Class of 2027. He rushed for 561 yards and nine touchdowns as a sophomore. He also made 12 receptions out of the backfield. I like what he brings as a receiver. It would not surprise me if he gets some looks by college programs who would like to move him to wideout or tight end. Regardless of where he lines up, he creates match-up problems for defenses in the red zone.
