The film room has been POPPING as the PRZ Iowa crew has been busy doing several evaluations in time for recruits' crucial spring/summer cycle. I'm continuing my film room sessions by checking out some under-the-radar sophomores in Class 2A.

Centerville's [player_tooltip player_id='1205108' first='Makoa' last='Kaleponi'] is a prospect who should move up to the rankings in our next update. Makoa led the Big Reds' backfield with 78 carries for 390 yards and seven rushing touchdowns, contributing 15.5 tackles, a TFL, and an interception. Makoa is a strong, sturdy RB with solid size at 6'0", 210 pounds with a well-rounded running style. Makoa showed some finesse when running between the tackles, displaying a quick change of direction in close spaces and the ability to make himself small to fit through tight creases. He also does a great job using his vision to find cutback lanes and bounce runs to the outside, where he can hit his next gear to breakaway from defenses. Strong base and consistent pad level make him tough to bring down.

Very interesting prospect who contributed in nearly every way possible for the Cadets. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1246757' first='Cade' last='Olberding'] proved to be an all-around offensive weapon last season after racking up 661 passing yards, 489 rushing yards, 177 receiving yards, four passing touchdowns, four rushing touchdowns, a receiving touchdown, and averaged 33 yards per punt. At this point, I'm not exactly sure where Cade will play at the next level, as he is currently listed as a QB, but I'm sure coaches will be enticed by his overall athleticism. Olberding is an exciting runner who displays great change of direction and suddenness when carrying the ball, which helps him cut/juke his way through defenses with ease. I was also impressed with Cade's toughness and refusal to get brought down on initial contact, often requiring multiple tackle attempts by defenders before going down. He sees the field very well and seems to let the game come to him, especially in the pocket, where he has good instincts for when to pass the ball or tuck it and run it himself. As a receiver, he flashed smooth route running with excellent burst after the catch, allowing him to break free for big chunk plays.

Pioneers' WR [player_tooltip player_id='1649629' first='Asa' last='Jacobsen'] had a bit of a coming-out party last season as he established himself as a playmaker who can keep the chains moving. Asa ended his sophomore campaign with 42 receptions, 516 receiving yards, six receiving touchdowns, 89 rushing yards, and a rushing touchdown. Asa projects very well as a slot receiver at the next level, where he can use his shifty footwork and route running to attack all levels of the field, especially when carving up defenses over the middle. Obviously, being willing to go over the middle of the field requires a level of toughness, which Jacobsen shows with his ability to match the physicality of opposing DBs and has the hand strength to hang on through contact. Creates separation at the top of his route. Asa is also very dangerous when you can get him the ball in space with blockers in front of him, using his great vision and twitchy cutback ability to swerve through defenses for big gains.

Very interesting find here out of Northeast! The Rebels' sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1649628' first='Emerson' last='Kreinbrink'] emerged as a key two-way player along the offensive line and in the defensive front seven. Defensively, Emerson recorded 51.5 tackles, 11 TFLs, five sacks, three fumble recoveries, and an interception. My biggest takeaway from watching Emerson's game tapes was the physicality he brings to the field, whether on offense or defense. Offensively, Kreinbrink is a nasty finisher with his blocks, showing that he can easily win the inside leverage battle before using his brute strength and powerful base to upend defenders and drive them into the dirt. I was also very impressed with how well Emerson could climb to the second level to clear out running lanes and his ability to execute various blocks, displaying great athleticism and mobility. Good use of leverage and consistent pad level. Kreinbrink is an interesting defensive prospect who spent time on the defensive line and playing linebacker. He is quick getting off the ball with active hands ready to swat away at attempts to slow him down and does a great job generating a good initial push at the LOS. In several plays, Kreinbrink dipped into his bag of pass-rush moves using spins, swims, etc. to win his matchups and spill into the backfield.

Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1197486' first='Huxley' last='Lingenfelter'] had a great season in which he emerged as a key two-way player for the Cowboys. Lingenfelter led the team in receiving yards and tackles for the season with 17 receptions, 299 receiving yards, three receiving touchdowns, 60 tackles, nine TFLs, three sacks, and a fumble recovery. Right off the bat, Huxley's size stands out at 6'3" and 195 pounds with solid length and room to continue packing his frame. I like Lingenfelter's versatility on the offensive side of the ball, showing that he can line up off tackle with his hand in the dirt, ready to block, or move across the formation to take advantage of mismatches in the passing game. He displayed a mean streak when blocking with a willingness to stuff his face in the defender's chest and the power to drive them off the ball. Strong hands and the ability to high-point the ball. Defensively, Huxley plays with a quick trigger, using his sharp instincts and rapid-fire first step to break towards the ball carrier. He does a good job fighting off blockers at the line of scrimmage and tracks the ball very well as he works through traffic.
