You Are Athlete Regional Exposure Camp: Standout Wideouts

<p>We would like to continue to highlight some of the standout athletes from the You Are Athlete Regional Exposure Camp last weekend in the Valley. These players might not have won MVP, and some might not have even been invited to the All American Showcase in Houston as top finalists, but that doesn't mean that they didn't turn heads and impress. We will now take a look at some of the standout wide receivers from the camp last Saturday. </p>    <p class="text-gray-700">2026 Wide Receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1258656' first='Dayvon' last='Standard'] was hard not to pay attention to at the showcase. Standing at a lengthy frame of 6'3 170lbs, he imposes tons of mismatch problems for opposing secondaries. The first thing that pops out is his physicality off the line, as he can meet contact with contact and use it to allow him to separate. He is smooth and concise on his breaks, moving fluidly out in the open field. His ability to make insane catches was on display all day, as he utilized his long arms to highpoint and reel in catches. Standing at 6'0 155lbs, opposing defense's must account for in the passing game. He has a knack for finding the void in the secondary, showing that he can identifying coverages and then attack them at their weakest points. He is excellent about tracking the ball in the air and getting underneath it downfield. His hands are solid, and he is unafraid to sell his body out for the catch. At a nice frame of 6'1 185lbs, he showed tons of athletic traits at the showcase that you love to see. The best one was his routing running, as he lined up in the slot most of the day to display his craftiness and ability to create separation from the inside. He ran impressive routes down the seam of the defense, able to find space and locate weak spots in 7v7. He also has excellent acceleration and agility to finish off plays as well for scores. Standing at a sound 6'0 159 lbs, he played both ways for the Stampede, but you can tell he has the skillset for wideout. His best traits are his hands, which are strong and assertive to pluck balls out of the air. He is a solid route runner, showing good change of direction and release on his breaks to allow for separation. He is great at using his hands for physicality to separate himself from the corner before coming to the catch point. At 5'6 125lbs as only a freshman, he shows promise that he can be a tremendous slot receiver. It shows up in his shiftiness, as he is elusive and agile in the short area to weave around defenders. He has the speed to make quick cuts and has the explosiveness to create separation at the last moment. He displays natural hands at the catch point and good body control to snag in receptions.
