Recruiting Spotlight: Kansas Committed D-Linemen

To close out January, I featured more than 30 offensive linemen known to have committed to play college football.   To open February, Prep Redzone features “The Big Uglies” on the other side of the football.   Here is a quick glance at 24 Kansas defensive linemen in the Class of 2025 who have announced commitments to college programs. He has committed to play for Arkansas State.   [player_tooltip player_id='1213990' first='Milan' last='Colvin'], DL, 6'2”, 300, Derby, '25 (Eastern Michigan)   Derby's Colvin is headed to Ypsilanti, Michigan to play for the Eastern Michigan Eagles.   [player_tooltip player_id='733507' first='Hyrum' last='Vaeono'], DL, 6'3”, 300, Free State, '25 (Butler CC)   Butler landed a big-time prospect from Free State. Vaeono is currently ranked No. 26 overall by Prep Redzone.   [player_tooltip player_id='1213993' first='Harper' last='Engel'], DL, 6'4”, 245, Shawnee Mission Northwest, '25 (Central Missouri)   The first Division II commitment on this list is Engel. He has committed to play for Mules.   [player_tooltip player_id='733208' first='Rhett' last='Ihrig'], DL, 6'3”, 225, Goodland, '25 (Northwest Missouri)   Ihrig's family will have long drives ahead of them. The Goodland prospect has committed to play for the Bearcats.   [player_tooltip player_id='442666' first='Holden' last='Ziegler'], OL, 6'3”, 250, Council Grove, '25 (Emporia State)   The Hornets have gotten a couple of in-state additions to the D-line. Ziegler is ranked No.  63 overall.   [player_tooltip player_id='268059' first='Koby' last='Le'], DL, 6'1”, 240, Emporia, '25 Emporia State)   As announced earlier this week, the Spartan defensive lineman is staying home to compete for the Hornets. [player_tooltip player_id='1306212' first='Gaige' last='Hurley'], DL, 6'3”, 240, Andover  Central, '25 (Butler CC)   The Grizzlies have landed a couple of Jaguar athletes. Hurley could start right away for Butler. In today's college football, it will be interesting to see who redshirts from this group, and who might hit the portal after one year. [player_tooltip player_id='353219' first='Jake' last='Van Horn'], DL/OL, 6'5”, 280, Baldwin, '25 (Baker)   Van Horn won't have far to travel as he is all set to compete for his hometown Baker Wildcats.   [player_tooltip player_id='868980' first='Brett' last='Davidson'], DL, 6'3”, 240, Baldwin, '25 (Butler CC)   Van Horn's teammate Davidson is headed to El Dorado to play for the Grizzlies.   [player_tooltip player_id='1228505' first='Jack' last='Hartman'], DL, 6'4”, 225, Troy, '25 (Iowa Western CC)   Troy's Hartman has committed to play for the Iowa Western Reivers in Council Bluffs, Iowa.   [player_tooltip player_id='1114828' first='Jayden' last='Houghton'], DL, 6'4”, 220, Frontenac, '25 (Pittsburg State)   The Frontenac prospect will play for southeast Kansas powerhouse Pitt State. [player_tooltip player_id='1114825' first='Elijah' last='Thomas'], DL, 6'3”, 225, Highland Park, '25 (Butler CC)    Thomas had a nice season for the Scotties and parlayed that into an offer from Butler.   [player_tooltip player_id='1398053' first='Cade' last='Barnett'], DL, 6'3”, 225, Dodge City, '25 (Dodge City)   Barnett is another Kansas prospect staying home as he has committed to play for the Conquistadors.   [player_tooltip player_id='1612056' first='Andrew' last='Nelson'], DL, 5'11”, 275, Lawrence, '25 (Baker)   The Chesty Lion prospect won't have far to travel to suit up for Baker.   [player_tooltip player_id='1566636' first='Jarrett-Wayne' last='Moore'], DL, 5'10”, 225, Jackson Heights, '25 (Friends)   Moore is a small-school lineman headed to the big city of Wichita to compete in the KCAC.
