Leading his Eagles squad to a D2-Class A state championship, Curtis had a sensational junior campaign and continued to boost his stock as potentially the top college prospect from our #TN2026 class. The Eagles signal caller was a man among boys on several occasions throughout the 2024 season, where Curtis generated 2,830 yards passing with 40 touchdowns and only three interceptions on the year while also producing 637 yards on the ground along with another 18 scores. He was nearly unstoppable and a clear cut difference maker in the Eagles run towards achieving the state title.

By the end of the year, Fullen led the entire state in rushing with a career best 2,265 yards with 25 touchdowns while averaging 10.8 yards per carry. It was a breakout season for this Memphis area ball carrier and a big difference maker behind the Rebels 6-5 record. Fullen proved to be a problem for opposing defenses due to his size, strength, vision and ability to find a second gear in the open field. The Rebels rising senior running back will be back for another run next Fall where he can put up another big year and contend for D2-Class A player of the year and Mr. Football.

t was a tough choice for our defensive MVP but I feel the impact and play from Miller this past Fall season was too hard to look past. The Lions linebacker had a highly productive junior year where he produced 144 total tackles with 20.5 of them for loss along with 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, 3 passes defended and 2 sacks on the season. Ever since Miller stepped onto the field in a full role his sophomore season, this Jackson area backer has done nothing but stand out and produce at a high level. I expect nothing different for his senior year next Fall where Miller will be looking to repeat as the #PRZTN defensive player of the year.

Signing with Indianapolis to play his college ball, Staten was the best two-way lineman from the D2-Class A level for the 2024 season that put forth good work from both sides of the ball that made him a problem for the opposition. The overall defensive stats may not be there like his junior year but Staten was still quite disruptive with 58 tackles, 14.5 for loss, 2 forced fumbles and 2.5 sacks. His performance from the Eagles offensive line is a big reason for this honor as he became the linchpin up front that helped keep Kelley clean and pave the way for his running backs.

Coach of the Year

Jeff Brothers - Nash. Christian

- Coach Brothers and his Eagles coaching staff brought another “Gold Ball” to their school halls after a near dominating 2024 season with both their offense and defense playing consistent ball from beginning to end. Pieces were in place, like Curtis at quarterback and a defense with college level upside for success but Coach Brothers had to make this team gel together and stay focused throughout a long football year to eventually come out as state champs and he and his staff accomplished that. It was a banner season for the Eagles that could be replicated for 2025 as most of the key contributors from last season's championship team returns for a possible repeat.

Positional MVP's (Class D2-Class A)

QB MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='390711' first='Austin' last='Kelley'] - Jackson Chrst.: The leader and calm presence throughout his Eagles team had another strong campaign under center and a great finish to his high school football career. Kelley ended his senior year with 2,556 yards passing with 32 touchdowns through air and another 3 scores on the ground.

RB MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='1002753' first='Montae' last='Baldwin'] - Columbia Acad.: For yet another season with the Bulldogs, Baldwin was the team MVP and offensive catalyst that helped lead them to the D2-Class A title game. He produced a monster senior year with 2,124 yards rushing and 23 touchdowns while averaging 7.3 yards per carry.

WR MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='219345' first='Jaylen' last='Mosley'] - Jackson Chrst.: The Eagles top overall player had another highly productive year where he defensive backs had a hard time dealing with his playmaking abilities. Mosley produced 65 receptions for 1,165 yards and 20 touchdowns on the year along with clamping down pass catchers on defense.

OL MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='1323060' first='Blake' last='Barker'] - Columbia Acad.: Last Fall was the best work done yet from this Mid-Tennessee interior O-lineman, who is headed to Georgetown (Ky) in a few months. Barker was consistent and rock solid all year long where he showed enhanced pass protection while opening holes for Baldwin and the Bulldogs rushing attack.

DL MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='1102487' first='Gavin' last='Walker'] - Jackson Chrst.: Walker had his best year yet inside an Eagles uniform where he led the D2-Class A ranks in sacks at 9.5 while also generating 64 total tackles, 11 of them for loss and 1 forced fumble. His work last Fall boosted his stock where he ended up signing with Missouri Southern.

LB MVP: R.J. Perkins - Nash. Christian: Perkins became a key force on defense during the Eagles run towards the D2-Class A title. This junior linebacker did a lot of his work close to the line and against the run where he produced 101 tackles, 14 for loss, 1 forced fumble, 2 fumble recoveries, 1 interception and 4 sacks on the year. Look for Perkins to build upon his junior and potentially lead his classification in tackles for his senior campaign.

DB MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='466267' first='Brayden' last='Waller'] - Trinity Chrst. Acad.: The Lions top two-way player, Waller had a strong year on both sides of the ball but especially on defense where he produced 42 tackles with 1 forced fumble, 4 passes defended and a classification leading 7 interceptions for his senior season.
