We are close to releasing our winter 2026 rankings update, and you should expect a lot of movement. This movement will include players who boosted their stock last season or are new names on our radar.

Here are a few prospects who are expected to be on the rise in the next update.

[player_tooltip player_id='1075432' first='Isaiah' last='King'] , OL - Sioux City East - 6'2" 290 lbs

Sioux City East's [player_tooltip player_id='1075432' first='Isaiah' last='King'] is a player we've been telling you to watch for some time, and he continued to show why during his junior campaign. The Black Raider's lineman had a great season holding down the right tackle position. Watching Isaiah's junior clips, I was impressed with his blocking technique and mobility. He proved light on his feet on his drop sets with great lateral quickness to execute pull blocks and clear second-level defenders. King keeps his hands loaded and ready to explode through a defender's chest. Another thing that stood out while watching Isaiah's clips is the growth in his footwork and consistency as the weeks pass. Lots to like with Isaiah!

[player_tooltip player_id='1216911' first='Max' last='Schwieger'] (@schwieger_max), DB - Cedar Rapids Prairie - 6'0" 180 lbs

Here's one of the more interesting defenders in the 2026 class. CR Prairie's [player_tooltip player_id='1216911' first='Max' last='Schwieger'] is a versatile safety who showed he could cover like a DB and defend the run like a LB. Max had a solid junior season, recording 25.5 tackles, six TFLs, three sacks, and a fumble recovery. What stood out about Max on tape is the different ways he's used in Prairie's defensive scheme. You can see him lined up in a traditional safety spot, but you'll also see him at nickel and up on the line of scrimmage like an edge rusher. I was really impressed with his ball skills in coverage, flashing quick hands that he uses to bat away passes at the catch point. Schwieger also looked very explosive when asked to rush the passer, displaying a quick first step and excellent bend that allows him to blow past tackles off the edge. He can also set the edge against the run when he's lined up here, with solid strength and hand usage to rip away from blockers. Watch for Schwieger's stock to rise this spring.

[player_tooltip player_id='1241527' first='Drew' last='Hobart'] (@drew_hobart), WR - Mason City - 5'10"

After leading the Riverhawks in receiving as a sophomore, [player_tooltip player_id='1241527' first='Drew' last='Hobart'] came back with an even better season in which he improved in nearly every category. Hobart posted 50 receptions for 787 receiving yards, 6 receiving touchdowns, a 75-yard passing touchdown, 41.5 tackles, 5 TFLs, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery. Drew projects well as a slot receiver at the next level, where coaches will be able to take advantage of his full route tree and ability to create separation. You can also line him out wide and let his speed burn defenses deep. Very crisp routes with nice explosiveness going in and out of his breaks. Hobart is great after the catch, displaying great elusiveness in the open field with shifty change of direction that can flip the field on a dime. He also proved to be a dangerous return man with nearly 700 return yards and three kickoffs returned for touchdowns. Dynamic playmaker who can bolster your receiving group!

[player_tooltip player_id='401669' first='Daniel' last='Larmie'] (@Larmie0), RB - Ankeny

Make it back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons for Ankeny star RB [player_tooltip player_id='401669' first='Daniel' last='Larmie'], who continues to compile an impressive prep career. As a junior, Larmie gashed defenses for 1,208 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on 186 carries, averaging 6.5 yards per carry, en route to helping the Hawks make the quarterfinals. When you cut on Daniel's tape, you see a very explosive RB with great burst when hitting his gaps and breakaway speed to separate from defenses when he hits the second level. Larmie isn't a RB who's gonna dance around and be flashy, instead opting for a more north-south running style where he takes the fight to the defense with angry, physical runs. Strong base and great contact balance keep him powering through tackle attempts. Look for Daniel to continue building on his junior season with a big senior year!

[player_tooltip player_id='1370717' first='Kane' last='Mahler-Moreno'] (@mahlerk59), EDGE/TE - Woodward-Granger - 6'2" 215 lbs

Talk about a breakout! The Woodward-Granger Hawks enjoyed an excellent season from their junior two-way star, [player_tooltip player_id='1370717' first='Kane' last='Mahler-Moreno']. We had looked at Kane as a tight end in the preseason rankings, but now it's likely he'll be listed as an ATH, given his tremendous ceiling on both ends. Kane was a terror coming off the edge, with 44.5 tackles, 19.5 TFLs, 8.5 sacks, a fumble recovery, and an interception. When you watch Kane's defensive tape, you see a relentless pass rusher who can convert his quick first step into a powerful initial punch and explode through blockers. He follows through with active, violent hands that help him break off from blocks. Once he's spilled into the backfield, Mahler-Moreno has a tireless pursuit of the ball and great closing speed that gets him to the ball carrier in a flash. On offense, Kane caught 34 passes for 749 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns. He fits the mold of a flex tight end who can move and route up defensive backs on the outside like a receiver with the frame and blocking of a tight end. Strong hands. Kane is also solid after the catch with the toughness to keep rumbling for yards after contact and burst to break away from defenses. High ceiling prospect flying under the radar at the moment!
