After another action-packed year of high school football in the Bluegrass State, it's time to take a look at some high-level 2026s that have made their presence known on the field this past year. Without any further ado, here's my list of some Kentucky 2026s to watch for next season.

In the first place spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='401707' first='Evan' last='Hampton'], a running back at Owensboro High School. Hampton catches my attention with his outstanding speed off the snap as well as his ability to stun defenders as he breaches the pocket. I also like how Hampton can pick up speed on the run, showing off his ability to consistently outrun the defense and take it all the way to the house.

I am additionally impressed with [player_tooltip player_id='212337' first='Trevy' last='Barber'], a wide receiver/defensive back at Bowling Green High School. On top of excellent breakaway speed and catching ability, what I like about Barber's playstyle is his ability to quickly change direction, confuse the defense and haul in the touchdown pass. I also like how Barber can take it all the way to the house off kickoff.

Claiming the number three spot on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='283954' first='Baron' last='Hardesty'], an edge at Bullitt East High School. In addition to great defensive aggression, what impresses me about Hardesty is his ability to read the offense and quickly blast past the offensive line to apply pressure on the quarterback. I also like how Hardesty can easily overpower his opponent and drop the gunslinger to the ground.

Another skilled prospect to watch for is [player_tooltip player_id='283977' first='Max' last='Merz'], an offensive lineman at Highlands High School. What makes Merz such a weapon at the line of scrimmage is his size and ability to quickly react to his opponent. I also like how Merz can utilize his wingspan to overpower the defense and protect his quarterback in crucial moments.

Coming in at number five on my list is [player_tooltip player_id='283974' first='Keagan' last='Maher'], a running back/athlete at Cooper High School. Maher catches my eye with his ability to shake the defense on the run, proving he can remain durable in the pocket and find a way into the open field. I also like how Maher can use bursts of speed to fly ahead of the defense and take it all the way into the endzone.
