His physicality at the line of scrimmage and recovery ability were some of his strengths. Quick showed a willingness to jam receivers at the line. In one rep, he could close in after the initial separation. If he can continue to work on his transition quickness and positioning on breaking routes, he'll be an even better man-to-man defender.

Davis had one of the top catches during the 1v1 session, a contested one on a go-route. The defender had tight coverage but kept his concentration and secured the ball. He did a good job of route stemming on one rep, setting up a slant by initially stemming outside. Davis also caught a short-route pass. He looks much smoother when he keeps his hands close to his body while running his routes. Would like to see Davis continue to work on his releases against press coverage and getting separation on deep routes.

Williams is an aggressive defensive back who is not afraid to challenge receivers at the line and makes plays on the football. He successfully closed the gap between him and a receiver on one play and ultimately broke up the pass. I thought he could have done better in positioning himself in the red zone. Improving his transitioning and route anticipation in off-man coverage will take his game to another level.

Hubbard did a decent job of undercutting routes and being disruptive. On one play, he effectively undercut a crossing route and deflected the football. I thought his willingness to play press coverage throughout the 1v1 session was admirable. Hubbard was competitive. If he works on getting quicker in his transitions and staying balanced when receivers make sharp cuts, he'll become a better technician.

Washington made the most of his limited reps during the 1v1 session. On one play, he showed his ability to be a deep threat. Washington ran a go route, gained separation, and made a leaping catch. He consistently gained inside leverage against defenders who tried to press him at the line of scrimmage. That enabled Washington to set up his routes effectively. I thought he did a nice job of executing his routes and getting separation. On another route, a post-corner, he had the defender beaten despite the ball being overthrown.

Other articles to read

Southern Maryland 2025 Season Players to Know - Part 1

Meet some of the IAC's offensive stars in the 2026 Class – Pt . 1

Maryland/D.C. 2027 prospects already on the radar – Pt. 1

Maryland/D.C. 2027 prospects already on the radar - Pt. 2

Maryland/D.C. 2027 prospects already on the radar – Pt. 3

2025 Season: Western Maryland Skill Players to Know – Part 1

Maryland 4A Football's Next Wave: 2026 Evaluations – Part 1

Maryland 4A Football's Next Wave: 2026 Evaluations – Part 2

Maryland 4A Football's Next Wave: 2026 Evaluations - Part 3

The Next Wave: Scouting MD/DC's 2026 class: Film Review Pt. 1

The Next Wave: Scouting MD/DC's 2026 class: Film Review Pt. 2

Scouting the ranked 2026 Maryland prospects: Running Backs

The New Editions: Evaluating WR's in the MD 2026 Rankings

The New Editions: New edge defenders in the MD 2026 rankings

Evaluating Quarterbacks in the updated Maryland 2026 rankings

Evaluating Tight Ends in the updated Maryland 2026 rankings

Evaluating prospects from The First State: 3A standouts – Pt. 1

Evaluating prospects from The First State: 2A standouts – Pt. 1

Evaluating prospects from The First State: 1A standouts – Pt. 1
