After a modest sophomore campaign, Keenan Kilburg saw his production grow exponentially in 2024, helping the passing game for Bellevue expand greatly as the Comets enjoyed a strong comeback season. Kilburg finished with 1159 receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns, and he led all Iowa receivers last season in receptions (100). The best way to describe Kilburg is reliable, being a player that the Comets' can trust to get the job done through different situations. Kilburg is impressively flexible and agile, being able to shift his body to make difficult receptions, and he is an excellent route runner that can extend the play and find a way to get open for his QB. It will be interesting to see how Kilburg follows up after such a strong junior year, but he should be on the radar as one of the top WRs in the state once again next season.

Cael Witt served as one half of arguably the best WR duo in all of Iowa last season. Witt broke out in 2024 as he finished with 1130 receiving yards on 74 catches and 11 touchdowns. Witt worked best with running the deep routes, being able to bend outside and make over-the-shoulder catches in stride, and he also catches well through contact. Witt will remain as one of the key pieces of the Trojans' offense for another season, in which they will try to top what was a dominant effort in 2024 as they look to bring home another state title.

Alongside Witt in the Trojans' passing game, [player_tooltip player_id='1668461' first='Zach' last='Nelson'] enjoyed a massively productive season in 2024 in which he built off an excellent sophomore showcase. Nelson finished with 1118 receiving yards on 73 catches and 13 touchdowns. Nelson's role on the offense is flexible, as the Trojans line him up both outside and in the slot. Speaking of flexibility, Nelson is a very agile athlete, and he's a very tough competitor, being difficult to bring down through contact and making difficult catches in traffic. Nelson has clearly stood out among the Trojans' offense and he has built up a lot on his resume heading into his senior season.

Travis White emerged as a playmaker during his sophomore season, and that big-play potential continued to show itself during his junior season. White finished with 770 receiving yards on just 40 receptions and 5 touchdowns. White is extremely dangerous as a deep threat, and he shows quick strides in his route running to generate separation, and once the ball gets into his hands, it's almost impossible to catch up. White has been one of the few bright spots for this struggling team, and he will look to getting the Blue Devils on the right track during his senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1221956' first='Dawson' last='Kreykes'] has clearly cemented himself as the No. 1 WR for Sibley-Ocheyedan with his performance over the last two seasons. In 2024, Kreykes finished with 672 yards on 34 catches and 8 touchdowns. A dangerous WR to leave in 1-on-1 matchups, Kreykes utilizes quick feet and hip agility to win to change his direction on his routes quickly, doing a great job on improvising his routes to get open, and he can easily make acrobatic catches in difficult spots. Kreykes will have a challenge ahead in his senior season as he adjusts to a new starting QB, but he's clearly someone that Sibley-Ocheyedan can get excited about for their offense.

Easton Nissen's presence on Kingsley-Pierson's offense was a unique one to watch. Nissen finished last season with 421 yards on 25 catches and 4 touchdowns. His size doesn't suggest him playing as a TE, but Nissen has proven flexible to being lined up on the line as a TE as well as out wide. Nissen is a versatile route runner, being able to run clean routes through all three levels of the defense. What impresses me the most is his willingness to make and finish the play every time the ball is targeted toward him, and he does whatever he can to get the ball in his hands for a gain even through difficult coverage. Nissen will be an interesting prospect to keep a close eye on next season.

The truest TE of the list, [player_tooltip player_id='1693438' first='Carson' last='Edney'] was a big-bodied athlete that was capable of stretching the field as a pass-catcher. Edney finished with 25 receptions for 387 yards and 6 touchdowns. Edney is a great goal-line threat, who is a perfect option for POP-pass situations, utilizing his size to shed off defenders on the line and serving as a reliable blocker in the run game as well. Edney could potentially see more targets in the passing game as a senior as one of the few returning receivers for the Panthers this season.
