Edney is a legitimate two-way prospect for the next level. He’s athletic with a frame capable of adding mass without losing any of it. As a junior for the Panthers last season, Edney hauled in 25 passes for 387 yards and six touchdowns, adding a pair of two-point conversions. On defense, he delivered 42.0 tackles (25 solo, 2.0 TFL) and a sack. We can see how Edney operates during his 11th-grade highlight video. It’s with physicality. The first clip shows him pancaking a defender while blocking as a tight end. We see a lot more of that. He’s also a smooth route runner with speed for the position. On defense, he disrupts the proceedings with a combination of quickness and strength.
