He is a explosive runner that does a good job getting behind his pads and waiting for his blocks to develop before hitting the hole. He shows natural forward lean and contact balance in the short area while also able to cutback and has start stop abilities near the LOS and is tough to bring down in the open field. Overall, he is a very elusive ball carrier with all the tools to be an effective back at the next level. He is very strong at the point of attack, explodes out of his stance with a strong base and stays within his frame while able to finish blocks downfield and get to the second level with ease. Smith shows the ability to pull across the line of scrimmage and kick-out defensive end's and also shows he can combo to the second level and block athletic second level defenders.
