When players start focusing on their senior season and come to the realization that this is the last time they will ever play high school football it puts a different emphasis on things.

One last hurrah. One last chance to be the best baller you can be and help your team win.

In some instances, rising star players saw limited action backing up all-state or standout seniors. In others, the opportunity to play was there but either the team was average and didn't get much attention or were slow getting the word out on top performances.

In this report we will take a look at a pair of quarterbacks who backed up all-state players a year ago and then three standout runningbacks who are off and running showing what they have to offer, but are still flying lower than they should.

But, not for long...

So, without further adieu, let's take a look at five 2026 ballers getting ready to dominate this fall:

[player_tooltip player_id='1402698' first='Rashawn' last='Johnson'], 5'10, 170, ATH, Wichita South, '26, is coming off a standout junior season as a multi-positional playmaker who is a game-changer on both sides of the ball. On offense he is a versatile speedster who is elusive and slippery on the perimeter. Through the air he completed 14 of 25 passes for 355 yards, three TD's and zero picks. On the ground he gained 903 yards on a scant 77 carries for an 11.7 average, caught 19 passes for 257 yards and also had 600+ yards in kick returns. All told he piled up 2,100+ yards and 20 TD's. But he's not done, on defense he can play any of the secondary spots but is lethal as a shut-down corner who can get in the grille, flip hips and hijack the fastest receivers. For the year he had 58 tackles, three TFL and three picks. This guy is lightening in a bottle.

[player_tooltip player_id='1515919' first='Garrison' last='Wells'] , 5'11, 200, RB, Clearwater '26, is coming off an excellent junior season as a piledriver of a back who amped up his team's running game on his way to all-conference honors. On the year he ran through the competition for 1,100 yards on 183 carries for a 6-yard average and eight touchdowns. He got off to a hot start, racking up 500 yards and four touchdowns in the first three games last fall. He is a slashing, pounding runner who rips through arm tackles on his way to big yards after initial contact. He lines up as a tailback or fullback and has good vision letting his blocks mesh and then hits the gap with a quick burst and is off to the races. He is also a good punter who averaged just under 35 yards a punt last fall. This guy is getting ready for a banner season this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1228884' first='Reece' last='Tolar'], 6'3, 205, QB, Cheney, '26, is coming off a solid season as a two-way baller who gained valuable experience backing up a senior all-state quarterback. He has prototype size and athleticism for a QB and is comfortable operating out of the pocket or as a dual-threat playmaker. He has a strong arm with polished mechanics in the pocket. He can stretch the field with the long ball, hit the deep-comeback velocity throws and slice and dice defenses throwing bullets in the short game. He also has good wheels and extends plays well, throwing tight passes on the move, off platform and from differing launch angles. He was a headhunter of a linebacker on defense with 61 tackles in seven games. He is also a standout in hoops and baseball. This guy is going to dominate in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1367364' first='Krystian' last='Dorsey'], 5'11, 185, QB, Derby, '26, is coming off a learning season as a back-up quarterback behind an all-state senior and is off and running using the experience as a springboard for a big senior year. He is an athletic dual-threat quarterback who is shifty and fast with great burst and is very difficult to bring down in the open field. He has a powerful arm with a smooth shoulder rotation and quick delivery. He throws a catchable ball with excellent touch and ball placement on tight-seperation bullets. He is particularly dangerous on the move and extending plays with his legs and his arm. He has all the tools to lead the powerful Panther program on another quest for the state championship. Get this guy on your watchlist, he is ready for a breakout year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1618530' first='Kas' last='Kramer'], 5'10, 175, ATH, Ell Saline, '26, is coming off a stellar junior season as a versatile all-purpose back, receiver and return man who is an elusive burner in the open field. He lines up all over the formation, split out wide, in tight as a slot or as a tailback in the backfield. For the year he averaged over ten yards a carry, picking up 1,024 yards rushing. As a receiver he caught 17 passes for 250+ yards and piled up a total of 25 touchdowns. He had one of the best stat lines in the state earlier in the year when he went scorched earth in a win over Rock Hills accounting for a jaw-dropping eight touchdowns, running for five TD's, scored another one on a pass and added not one, but two, scoop-and-score fumble recoveries. He also added an interception for good measure. Get your popcorn ready this guy is going to put on a show this fall..

In conclusion, these guys are ready to take the next step. Get them on your watchlist and follow the build up to this fall. And, as always, if you know of anyone flying under the radar give me a shout via DM on X. Keep grindin'…
