These rankings come down to measurables, athletic profile, and film - I have seen 13 of the top 18 prospects either at camps or playing in games during the fall, and some prospects I have even seen twice. This group has many different types of backs - big physical runners, small twitchy runners, and versatile athletes who can be an asset for an offensive coordinator. To add some good perspective into rankings, these are general, but there will be teams looking for specific archetypes of RB, naturally eliminating several from this list to be in contention for spots at that school. Some schools like big backs, some schools like small backs, and some like three-down backs; schools can look for tons of different things, which is important to keep in mind, especially for this position where there are so many different play styles.

Davis is the most versatile player in New York. He plays RB but can align anywhere offensively, from H-Back to WR, and you see it all over his tape. A dual-sport commit to North Carolina, Davis was one of the best players I saw play this season, regardless of class.

127 Carries - 1350 Yards - 16 TDs
52 Receptions - 728 Yards - 7 TDs

Nobody put up numbers close to what Davis did throughout the season, and his ability to impact the game in so many ways is what sets him apart.

What is the difference from his sophomore season, which showed a lot of promise and had him inside the top 20 at #19? I wrote about it earlier in the season, around week 4, and it was that Davis was much more explosive this year; he reached a whole other level of athleticism and movement on tape. His burst and ability to acceleration out of his cuts not only improved, but made him one of the best athletes in the state.

The recruiting attention was bound to come for Davis. Committed to North Carolina, he became the second FBS commit in this class. I posted this before his 363-yard 3 TD performance in the Catholic State Championship Game, arguably the best game of the year. He had been the #1 RB in my mind since September, a player that all it takes is a live look to confirm everything you see on tape and potential at the next level is clear.

Morrow built on a strong sophomore season of tape; he has good measurables and the body type that many RB coaches look for. He is right around 200 lbs now but can easily end up in the 215-220 range in college.

Morrow's ability to make guys miss and his jump cuts in space are the best I have seen from any RB out of New York in the past few classes. He is very loose in his lower half, and his ability to change direction and explode after a jump cut makes him so hard to tackle 1v1. You see some nice wheel routes and the ability to be a receiving threat out of the backfield on tape; there are even more flashes of his ball skills in a 7v7 setting.

Morrow also flashes some speed against some of NY's top teams like Tottenville and Cardinal Hayes (Scrimmage) Morrow was able to pull away from defenses that had some quality athleticism on the field.

I will keep Bent in the RB position because I still see him as an RB first, but I think there is some really intriguing tape at DB. He fits the profile of a smaller slot corner with good burst and flashes some violent tackling, so he gets the DB position added to his profile, with a good chance he could also be recruited as a DB.

Bent has been a consistent producer for the PSAL for years, but he keeps getting bigger, and his film gets better. He plays both sides of the ball with a great motor and a physical style of play. His burst and acceleration stand out a lot on film. Long speed looks to be there, but there are no track times. I like the ball skills; he can be a receiving threat out of the backfield.

There is not enough DB film to make me confident that is his best position, but just as an athlete, he checks a lot of boxes and is on tape as one of the best athletes in this class.

Kama's entire athletic profile as a recruit is impressive. He was one of the best players on Long Island this past season and was a finalist for the Thorp Award (Best Player in Nassau County). He is also the Nassau County 190-lb Wrestling Champion. When you also get a look at the measurables and physically defined body type, there is a lot to like.

Kama's best positional skill is his contact balance—his ability to stay not just off the ground but stay balanced and maintain all his explosiveness while absorbing contact is impressive. It ties a lot into his play strength, and although there is not a ton of tape showing it, he has the physical traits (Play Strength/Balance) to be reliable in pass pro.

Kama also does an excellent job of reading and utilizing his lead blocks; there are plenty of plays on tape where he follows a pulling lineman in space, he is patient and doesn't outrun his blocks, but can effectively use the lead blocker to get leverage on defenders and find space.

Hernandez makes the most of every rep he gets, and it shows in the box score - he is RB2 on Canisius and ended up with 1,000+ All-Purpose yards while being a key defender for the Catholic Champion Runner-Ups.

I saw Hernandez play in the championship game vs Iona Prep, and in a game with two FBS RBs, Hernandez was right there with both of them in the plays he was making with the ball. Hernandez shows good speed on tape; there are several reps where he is able to pull away on 30+ yard runs. I like his two-way versatility, and he produces as a returner, so although I have him ranked at RB, there is some potential to be more than that at the next level. Good athlete who is very productive even with a limited role offensively.

Logan III played two-ways for Aquinas and was the RB two for the skill position stacked school in Rochester - with a clear path to the RB1 role this upcoming season; you take the tape from last year and see some potential in what he can do with a full workload. He also was a good Strong Safet/LB for Aquinas - I like the tape on both sides of the ball, hence being listed at multiple positions, but I think there is a lot to look forward to with him at the RB position next season.

Logan III shows a good change of direction and some explosive movements on tape, but his long speed really stands out on tape. I have no verified times or track times yet, but he can pull away from guys on tape. It looks like he has really good breakaway speed for the RB position. Athletically, he looks good on tape, but we need to see the production in a number 1 role next season.

Richardson has varsity tape from his freshman year. He missed most of his SOPH season due to injury but has bounced back nicely with some quality film from this season. The Sleepy Hollow athlete shows some positional versatility with his ability to line up as a receiver or catch the ball from the backfield.

He has good measurables for the position. He has a long stride as a runner, and it comes from his background in T&F, where he is one of the state's top long jumpers (22'2") and puts up good numbers in the weight room (11x225 Bench 255 Clean). Richardson has a great athletic profile and should perform well at camps, but the Senior Year film will be big for Richardson.
