The answer to this question is very simple- we'll see. We can evaluate and predict all we want, but the fact of the matter is that we won't actually know who the best offensive lineman in this class is until this class is through college. Granted, you can be a mid-level lineman in high school and be dominant in college through coaching. So, I'll try and take a crack at that question- who is the best high school offensive lineman in Michigan's Class of 2026?

The Case for Khalief:

Unrivaled in-season competition

GREAT all-around fundamentals

I've never, if ever seen him lose a rep in the offseason

Extremely competitive

Canty is one of the best linemen I've ever watched. He's probably still my #1 lineman, but it's extremely close. The only downside I can see is shorter than average arms for a B1G 10 prospect. I could easily see him becoming a quick starter in college, but how good he'll be depends on his work ethic.

The case for Gregory:

Best overall size profile in the class

Gained a ton of offers very early in high school career

Family history of amazing football success

Excellent fundamentals; rarely mis-steps

The more I look at Gregory, the more I think he's likely to be the most successful lineman in Michigan's class of 2026. A lot is going for him. Plus, having family familiar with high-level football should give him a leg up in college. I'm confident that Gregory will eventually be a very good player wherever he winds up playing his college ball.

The case for Ben:

Among the tallest OL in this class

The BEST blocker versus power in this class

Extremely polished footwork since freshman season; natural talent

Competitve

Good success against great competition

Ben has been at the top of this class for a very long time.
