With much of the event's groundwork already laid, it is time to discuss who-I-saw-do-what while at the Northeast Middle School Camp. Below are personal scouting notes from the action I witnessed.

Scout's Notes: Quarterbacks

Quarterbacks are typically a position I only start to look at after the conclusion of indy. One of the first I recall witnessing was [player_tooltip player_id='1016186' first='Rahmir' last='Rivera']. Rivera had very good balance in his motion and delivery. This allowed him to mostly deliver accurate balls to his intended target. Furthermore, Rivera had a tight, quick release and got the ball out with purpose. In doing so he limited the opportunity time defensive backs had to react and break on the ball... As the lead for high school in New Jersey for Prep Redzone, when I cover middle school events I get a kick out of the smaller prospects rip it. [player_tooltip player_id='1371902' first='CJ' last='Stieh'], all 5'3" of him, was one of those within the quarterback group for me. For someone of his stature, Stieh really slung it around the lot. Unabashed and unafraid, if there was the slightest window to deliver the ball into, Stieh wholeheartedly believed it was for the taking.

As far as the younger group of quarterbacks is concerned, the coaches were in agreement that [player_tooltip player_id='1536061' first='Talib' last='Nartey'] shined bright like a diamond. The bit I caught of Nartey I noticed that he hand tremendous on-target ball placement. Additionally, Nartey appears to understand the nuance of throwing the ball with "english" on it, as he delivered the ball with appropriate loft to his bigger targets - most notably a beautiful connection on a slot/tight end fade... One musing that I have is that lost on most quarterbacks at this level is the skill of stepping into your throws. This was not lost on Zakai Brake. Going full speed, pedal to the metal with no brakes, Brakes make sure to get the absolute most he could on his throws by stepping up into the pocket and stepping into his throws. He was aided by snapping and following through when he gripped it and ripped it.
