PRZVA Showcase: The Linebacker Group made a statement

<p><em>For a discount on your annual subscription, feel free to use my Code Frederick30</em></p>   <p>It is safe to say our First ever Prep redzone Virginia showcase yesterday was an instant success! We had over 80 kids from Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia on hand at the Horizon's Sports Edge Complex, that were competing and getting better. Cole Laing, Vic Castillo and myself will be posting articles all week as we have a lot to talk about. I was with the linebacker group again this showcase and these kids made a statement. Top performers were from the classes of 2025, 26,27 and 28 that represented a linebacking core that made a statement yesterday. Congrats to our MVP Baum Hogge out of Lafayette High school, this young man is a FBS level prospect.</p>   <h2 class="wp-block-heading">MVP- Baum Hogge Class of 2027</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Baum Hogge was a star even before he set foot at the complex yesterday and trust me, he left one after his MVP performance. When I work with a position group, the process for determining begins with speaking with college coaches present and figuring out an MVP from their. This may be the first time where every coach in Linebacker room without hesitation wanted Hogge to earn the MVP honors. On the heels of his first division one offer last week from Old Dominion, the class of 2027 superstar dominated yesterday. Good testing numbers and perfect techniques in the individual drills, Hogge showed why he is an FBS level linebacker. Some of the running backs could not even get off the line of scrimmage going against him during the 1vs1s, I am telling you watch out for his stock to rise in our latest rankings. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/qb1_baum16hogge/status/1878620680595673414 </div></figure>    <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Top Performers:</h2>    <p class="text-gray-700">Still uncommitted but possibly not much longer my dude [player_tooltip player_id='1232853' first='Alex' last='Lake'] was a beast in Harrisonburg on Sunday. The type of kid that makes me want to put the pads on again and play with him, Lake had an outstanding day. You love to see his competitor fire come out on every drill, whether it be the 40 or 1vs1s Lake wants to win at everything. Before he even showed up I had a feeling he would make his presence known, just like he did for Western Albemarle this past year. His recruiting is starting to gain momentum and the coaches on hand yesterday liked what they saw. Lake is the type of player you want to rally your team behind, no matter what the situation is. The sophomore to be continued his excellent off-season earning a top performer spot yesterday. Once again he was all over the field like a week ago, again standing out during the 1vs1s. If you do not know about this kid yet I suggest you pay attention, watch his reps below you will not be disappointed. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/ColtonRoberson4/status/1878575490358722867 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">I can see more why Colonial Forge's [player_tooltip player_id='1593988' first='Jaylen' last='Carter'] was an all state linebacker this past fall, he was dominant in person yesterday. Carter is a big physical presence at 6'3 and 200 lbs., he acquitted himself nicely all afternoon. As you can see with some of his reps below he using his long reach to his advantage and has good balance and control. Numerous times throughout the individual drills I saw Carter make similar reads to the ones below, he was always in control and not over pursuing. During the 1vs1s I came away very impressed as he was jamming running backs off the line and nobody could pull away from him. It became clear early on why Jack OMalley was first team all state as sophomore for Goochland High school, he is the real deal.
