At 6'3'', he is gifted with very long arms to stop receivers at the line of scrimmage and he has the athleticism to play as a deep safety. He has good hips and can flip and recover well. He has good ball skills and against the wide receivers in Hilliard Saturday, there wasn't much that got past him. Roney was great with his hands and had good alignment pre-snap. He did good when getting deeper down the field, and his athleticism helped him rebound when slightly behind. He gets physical and doesn't let his height be a disadvantage for him. He has strong hands and knocked several balls loose from receivers. He is athletically gifted and ran with every receiver there. One of Witherspoon's best gifts is his ability to read the eyes of a receiver at the line of scrimmage. He has extremely long arms and moves like everything is in slow motion. He has good hips and can flip well down the field, and does well at taking away sideline space on deep fades. He plays the ball well and can break up passes from underneath. Mark jammed receivers and ran with them downfield, and he didn't look out of place once. He has good length and good pre-snap alignment. He reads the eyes of receivers well and has an active head in defense to the deep ball.
