For the next few months, we will look at what the state of Florida football programs have coming back for 2025.

While we know the rosters will change with additions and subtractions, this gives college coaches and fans an opportunity to see some of the prospects who will have a chance to make an impact this coming year.

We will start with our state finalists and then continue with the other teams across the Sunshine State.

Today, we checked in with the 5A state runner up Lakeland Dreadnaughts and head coach Marvin Frazier, who ended the season 13-1 after winning the state title the two previous seasons.

This is a Lakeland program that will always be in the mix. They are strong up and down the lineup, will add junior varsity prospects and of course – like others across the state – add some pieces that will be needed to get them back to Miami in 2025.

With the graduation of some quality 2025 seniors, it will be up to the 2026 (rising senior) class that will need to step and make an impact.

Here are some of those prospects to keep an eye on: Caelen Bailey (WR, 5-9, 165), Tyler Cleveland (OL), fast rising [player_tooltip player_id='1581905' first='Jadarius' last='Dobie'] (RB/Slot, 5-8, 165. Track & Field – 3.4 GPA), [player_tooltip player_id='869381' first='Zyuan' last='Dukes'] (WR/Athlete, 6-0, 175), Jeremiah Finn (DE, 5-10, 190), Brycen Fischer (K/P, 5-8, 177 – 3.8 GPA), Tyquez Green (OL, 6-0, 250), Alashawn Hagan (RB, 5-8, 150), and Cassidy Irvin (Athlete, 5-8, 160).

The class also has Bryson Jones (LB, 5-10, 215 – 3.5 GPA), Rashard McGee (DL/Athlete), Javares McRoy Jr. (WR, 5-9, 155), Darich Metellus (CB, 6-0, 165), nationally rated [player_tooltip player_id='1247490' first='Malik' last='Morris'] (LB, 6-1, 230), Ashtan O'Neal (TE/DE, 6-3, 235), playmaker [player_tooltip player_id='1581926' first='Ziggy' last='Riley'] (SS/OLB, 5-8, 170 – 2.8 GPA), Zephaniah Rogers (OLB, 6-2, 190 – 3.0 GPA), [player_tooltip player_id='1158091' first='Logan' last='Staples'] (OL, 6-0, 210 – 3.5 GPA), Jerry Thomas (WR, 6-3, 205 – 3.0 GPA), [player_tooltip player_id='1788614' first='Zatorien' last='Vilsaint'] (OL/DL), and promising [player_tooltip player_id='1142239' first='Chad' last='Williams'] (QB, 6-2, 205).

THE FUTURE IS ONCE AGAIN VERY BRIGHT

While this rising senior class will be talented and ready to make a contribution, keep an eye on the underclassmen as well.

Class of 2027 rising juniors such as outside linebacker Cam'ron Bailey, [player_tooltip player_id='1224604' first='A.J.' last='Davis'] (DE, 6-1, 227), [player_tooltip player_id='1671138' first='Santana' last='Harvey'] (DE/Edge, 6-5, 220), Jave Jean-Louis (DL, 6-1, 245), Ryon Morgia (WR, 5-6, 130), Ahmaad Watts (FS, 5-10, 165), Andrew "Drew" Sapp (DE/TE, 6-3, 225 – 3.5 GPA), and Jordan Young (DB/LB, 6-2, 180).

Class of 2028 (rising sophomore) running back Ahnarri Cooper (5-9, 190) is maturing and is very gifted. So is receiver [player_tooltip player_id='969515' first='Cam' last='Fuse'] (6-2, 180) who will be special. He is also a baseball prospect. Linebacker Donte McCoy (6-0, 185) is promising and will make an impact in 2025. Jeldon Dennis (DE, 6-4, 220) and Dominick Harris Payne (WR, 6-2, 160 – 3.5 GPA) are certainly other names to remember.
