It's the calm before the storm in the High School Football world. In these few limbo months, a lot of what we'll do here is speculate who could end up where this recruiting cycle. The fact of the matter is that the vast majority of D1 offers have already gone out, so we're waiting on the GLIAC and MIAA teams to make moves on the 2026's.

This running back class is a very interesting one. I have a good feeling about what level all of our best unoffered RBs will end up at, but I never really know until it happens. That said, here are my thoughts and some predictions on our five best offered senior RBs.

I'm a big believer in [player_tooltip player_id='1298677' first='Daniel' last='Carter'] from Warren Cousino. I first saw him last summer at a Davenport camp- super well-built, athletic, and out-performed a few prospects who earned Davenport offers.

Strengths

Built extremely well. Shorter, but strong and dense.

Tested extremely well at Davenport camp. Fast, explosive, twitchy, did amazing in drills

Good route-runner. Short out / whip run well. Great hands; good eye discipline

A lot of good instances of contact balance on tape.

A solid pass blocker. Not afraid to get in the way of a defender to protect the QB. Few pass reps per game, though

Expect Daniel to land somewhere in the GLIAC. The running back position is always extremely competitive, so you never really know on that front. There is a chance he falls to MIAA, but it's unlikely.

I just published an article featuring Gwilly. Some outstanding tape. Great contact balance and straight-line speed. Tape is as good as any MAC prospect in Michigan. The thing is, he's not the twitchiest player in open space. He can juke people out, but he could be much more efficient in doing so.

Still, I think Mahti should end up somewhere in the GLIAC. Testing numbers could determine a lot here.

Lagat is coming off of a wildly successful season at Goodrich. Leading the Martians to their first State Championship, Jakoby displayed excellent play speed and leadership throughout the season. I love the way he hyped the team up. Love the way he ran the football- with a ton of physicality and grit.

On top of those things, Jakoby is a two-way player and pretty dang athletic. GLIAC prospect without a shadow of a doubt. One of the players I'll be pounding the table for throughout the Spring.

Logik is an incredibly interesting player to watch this Spring. On one hand, he's a tall, very well-built running back. Runs hard. Bounces off tackles. Can make guys miss. Really everything you want in a GLIAC prospect.

However, Logik tore his Achilles during practice this past fall. I don't assume he'll be at 100% for a while, but seriously, his tape is good. An MIAA lock without a doubt, but my gut says he's still a low GLIAC type of prospect.

<a href="http://<iframe src='https://www.hudl.com/embed/video/3/18352079/671b766aea79f0ea54ec0359' width='640' height='360' frameborder='0' allowfullscreen>Watch his tape and decide for yourself!

I'm fairly confident that Garlands will be an MIAA guy this Spring.

I've covered him a lot through the years. Garlands is a super, super hard runner. Puts everything he has into every run. A ton of explosive made plays for Dow, and a phenomenal high school football player. However, his testing numbers across the board fall around average and he's not the twitchiest athlete.

Still, Garlands is someone I've been seeing at camps for a very, very long time. It's really only a matter of time before he gets his due.

It's the calm before the storm in the High School Football world. In these few limbo months, a lot of what we'll do here is speculate who could end up where this recruiting cycle.
