Man, I was impressed with Daniel’s all-around game.
Efficient is the first word that comes to mind. I’ll be up front and say that Groves consistently won at the line of scrimmage, and it was tough sledding at times for Daniel. Though, Daniel did an excellent job of running through arm tackles and making guys miss. Even when Daniel was smothered, he was almost always able to fall forward and gain positive yardage. I can’t tell you how many plays I thought Daniel was stopped for no gain, only for Daniel to fight for a couple of yards.
Daniel has a ton to be proud of. He left it all out on the field and had a sensational high school football career.

I’m a big believer in Daniel Carter Daniel Carter 5'7" | RB Cousino | 2026 State MI from Warren Cousino. I first saw him last summer at a Davenport camp- super well-built, athletic, and out-performed a few prospects who earned Davenport offers.
Strengths
- Built extremely well. Shorter, but strong and dense.
- Tested extremely well at Davenport camp. Fast, explosive, twitchy, did amazing in drills
- Good route-runner. Short out / whip run well. Great hands; good eye discipline
- A lot of good instances of contact balance on tape.
- A solid pass blocker. Not afraid to get in the way of a defender to protect the QB. Few pass reps per game, though
Expect Daniel to land somewhere in the GLIAC. The running back position is always extremely competitive, so you never really know on that front. There is a chance he falls to MIAA, but it’s unlikely.

I’m very excited to see where Daniel Carter Daniel Carter 5'7" | RB Cousino | 2026 State MI ends up. He’s a lesser-known prospect but has excellent highlights, plus he performed super well last offseason. My gut says that if he was an incoming senior at last summer’s camp at Davenport, he would have received an offer.
Well, now, he’s an incoming senior when it comes to football. D2s and D3s are now looking hard at the class of 2026, and it’s Daniel’s time to shine. He’s a pure 3-down back- here’s how I grade him.
Athleticism: B-
IQ: C+
Strength: B-
Receiving: D+

One of my most prominent offseason standouts, I’m excited to watch some of his early-season tape.
- Flashes good vision, particularly on his second highlight
- 0:27- Exceptional contact balance and open-field elusiveness, great highlight!
- Above-average athleticism
- Built very well
- Should be a Division 2 target this offseason. He’s a sleeper!

Unranked –> #118
Daniel earns the #118 spot in large part because of his performance at the Davenport camp last month. There, he was a pleasant surprise in practically every area. He passed the eye test, tested well, and made some plays during the competition period. It’s unclear how well his abilities will translate onto the field, but Daniel could definitely be a GLIAC prospect in a year’s time IF he lives up to my projected ceiling. Cousino is a team that’s barely talked about, and I hope Daniel is able to put them on the map this season.
