2027 Rankings Update 3.0: EDGE

The most recent class to be updated is the class of 2027. With this update being officially posted, I will be taking the next couple weeks or so to break our rankings down by position. After already covering the offensive side of the ball, I have now turned my attention to the defensive side of the ball. He was very impressive against the run this past season, finishing the year with 100 tackles and 13 tackles for loss in 14 games. Austyn does a great job of reading the play then coming downhill in a hurry then using his strength to fight through blocks and speed to get to the ball carrier in a hurry. Once he gets to the ball carrier, Lawless is a very reliable tackler in the open field. Austyn also showed the ability to use his speed to blow by opposing offensive tackles off the edge as a pass rusher, finishing his sophomore year with 10 sacks. He also recovered three fumbles, returning one of them for a touchdown. Hurry was dominant against the run this past season, using his speed to run sideline to sideline to make tackles in the open field. On numerous occasions, Hurry was able to shoot into the backfield to make the tackle before the ball carrier had a chance to get going. He finished his sophomore season with 74 tackles and 21 tackles for loss in 12 games. Hurry was also able to use his speed to get to the quarterback as a pass rusher, finishing the year with nine sacks. He proved to be very dangerous off the edge as a pass rusher, using his speed to blow by opposing offensive tackles with ease of his way to the quarterback. Sebastian also showed the ability to use pass rush moves to defeat blocks quickly. Blue finished this past season with seven sacks in 14 games. He also showed the ability to stop the run, finishing the year with 21 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one fumble recovery which he returned for a touchdown. He was very impressive off the edge as a pass rusher as a sophomore. Tutt explodes out of his stance and uses his speed and bend to blow by opposing offensive tackles with ease. He finished his sophomore year with three sacks and several quarterback pressures in 12 games. Tutt also proved to be reliable against the run, finishing the year with 20 tackles and three tackles for loss. Hightower was very reliable against the run this past season, finishing the year with 25 tackles and three tackles for loss in 12 games. He does a great job of reading the play quickly then using his speed to get to the ball carrier in a hurry. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he has proven to be a very reliable tackler. He also finished his sophomore year with one interception and made an impact on offense at tight end, leading his team in receiving with 10 catches for 244 yards and three touchdowns. DJ doesn't currently hold any offers but he has received a little college interest and has the talent to play somewhere at the next level. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
