As we enter a new high school football off-season in the state of Kentucky, we are in a new round of rankings updates. The most recent class to be updated is the class of 2027. With this update being officially posted, I have taken the past week to break our rankings down by position. After already covering the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, I will now turn my attention to our top ATH in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky who have made an impact at multiple positions.

[player_tooltip player_id='378839' first='Garyon' last='Hobbs'] continued to prove that he is one of the top players in the state in his class this past season. On defense, Hobbs lined up in an outside linebacker/strong safety role where he was dominant against the run. He does a great job of diagnosing the play quickly then bursting out of his stance and using his speed to get to the ball carrier in a hurry. Once he gets to the ball carrier, he explodes through contact and finishes his tackles with a ton of physicality. Hobbs finished this past season with 79 tackles and 15 tackles for loss in 14 games. Garyon also showed the ability to make plays against the pass, finishing the year with one sack and three interceptions, returning of of them for a touchdown. He also made an impact on offense, running the ball 56 times for 366 yards and two touchdowns while also catching 16 passes for 184 yards and three touchdowns. Garyon currently holds a long list of Power 4/Division I offers and I expect a lot of eyes to be on him as he transfers from CAL to Atherton for his junior year and settles into his new role for their program.

[player_tooltip player_id='1375197' first='JuJu' last='Harmon Jr'] is another player who made an impact on both sides of the ball as a sophomore. This past season at Western Hills, Harmon lined up at safety where he was very impressive in coverage. He does a great job of reading the quarterback then breaking on the ball with perfect timing to make a play. JuJu finished this past season with a team-high six interceptions in 10 games, returning one of them for a touchdown. He also showed the ability to come downhill and provide run support, finishing the year with 49 tackles and 10 tackles for loss. On offense, Harmon led his team in receiving with 6 catches for 179 yards and a touchdown while also scoring one rushing touchdown. Harmon currently holds offers from Kentucky and Miami (OH), and I expect more to come his way as he is a Power 4 caliber prospect who will be receiving a lot of attention after transferring to Scott County for his junior year.

[player_tooltip player_id='1200641' first='Timmy' last='Emongo'] is a player who has been high on our radar for a while now and continued to stand out as a sophomore. Emongo is an electric playmaker on offense who the Cardinals love to get the ball in open space. He did a lot of his damage out of the backfield, running the ball 68 times for 501 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games while also catching 6 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown. Timmy is a threat to breakaway for a big gain or touchdown at any given moment as his explosive speed and elusiveness make him hard to defend against in the open field. He also returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and made an impact on defense as a defensive back, finishing the year with 26 tackles and two interceptions. Emongo currently holds offers from Kentucky, Miami (OH),Kent State, Louisville, and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect more to come his way as he has the talent to play for a Power 4 program.

[player_tooltip player_id='408628' first='Jordan' last='Holman'] caught my attention this past offseason and continued to stand out during his sophomore season. Holman was only able to play in six games but was impressive when on the field. On defense, Holman lined up at strong safety where he showed the ability to come downhill and provide support against the run. He finished this past season with 19 tackles and one tackle for loss. Jordan also proved to be reliable in coverage, flowing through coverage to put himself in a position to make a play, finishing his sophomore year with one interception. Holman has also shown the ability to pose as a deep threat at receiver on offense. Jordan currently holds offers from Kentucky and Toledo, and I expect more to come his way as he continues to develop.

To wrap up our top five ATH in the class of 2027 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='500831' first='Darrian' last='Tomlin']. Although he was only able to play in four games this past season due to injury, Tomlin still put together some solid sophomore year film. On defense, Tomlin lines up at outside linebacker where he is a very impressive pass rusher off the edge. He explodes out of his stance and uses his speed to blow by opposing offensive tackles with ease on his way to the quarterback. Tomlin also has shown the ability to fly to the football to make tackles in the open field. In the four games he played in, Darrian accounted for eight tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack. He is also a strong runner out of the backfield on offense, finishing this past season with eight carries for 65 yards and a touchdown. Darrian currently holds an offer from Eastern Kentucky and I expect more to come his way as he is a Division I caliber prospect.
