As we roll into the weekend I wanted to focus my last 2026 report supporting the latest ranking updates, by highlighting the quarterback position and some of the guys spread out over the rankings.

In this report we will take a closer look at five of the best junior QB's in the state. A few of them are already highly ranked and others are just starting to make their mark but are already dangerous performers.

In fact, all the quarterbacks below are seasoned ballers in one way or another and combined for 11,000+ yards last fall.

Six-plus miles of running and passing...

And, they did it in different ways, from classic drop-back artists to RPO wizards who can beat you with their arm or their legs. Most of them are adept at doing both, and for that matter, anything they put their minds to.

These guys are the dynamic playmakers coaches look for to lead their programs and who are rock-solid in taking over games and leading from the front. All are experts in that respect and more, like staying composed, rallying the troops, blocking out the noise and overcoming the odds to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat when their teams need it most.

So, without further adieu, let's take a closer look at some of the best of the best 2026 gunslinger QB's:

[player_tooltip player_id='611096' first='Aiden' last='Scott'] , 6'5, 210, QB, Shawnee Heights '26, ranked #12, is the highest ranked quarterback in this report and is coming off a monster-stat season when he completed 191 of 317 passes for 3,103 yards, 60%, 36 total TD's to only six picks for an elite-level 119.0 passer rating. All that in only nine games. Earlier in the year he had one of the top games in the nation when he went 29 of 48 for a staggering 593 yards and eight total touchdowns. He has a prototype frame, solid pocket mechanics and a rifle for an arm. He can make all the throws, from the pocket, on the move, sidearm bullets, deep velocity throws and long touch passes down the sidelines. He is athletic and moves well extending plays and getting the ball to his playmakers. This guy is getting ready to light it up this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='904442' first='Robert' last='Hunter'] , 6'0, 175, Wichita East, ranked #40, is a multi-positional athlete who is coming off a springboard year when he led his team team deep into the playoffs and posted consistent numbers along the way. In quick-strike attack mode all year, he completed 101 of 182 passes, 56%, 13 TD passes to only one pick and had a 109.0 passer rating. He also rushed for 300+ yards to give him 2,000+ total yards. A disruptive dual-threat QB, he is fast and elusive in the run-pass option game, but is also a well-rounded passer from the pocket. He has a compact throwing motion, quick release and is lethal extending plays. He can also play any of the skill positions or as a lock-down corner on defense. When fall rolls around, get your popcorn out for this guy.

[player_tooltip player_id='1113370' first='Carson' last='Dixon'] , 6'3, 185, QB, Basehor-Linwood '26, ranked #49, had a standout junior season and caught my eye earlier in the season when he had a game throwing for almost 400 yards, hit seven different receivers and fired three TD's. On the year he was 125 for 219, 1,828 yards, 57%, 23 total TD's, five picks and a 108.0 passer rating. He also had 300+ yards rushing to give him just under 2,200 total yards. He has a next-level frame and can make throws anywhere on the field. Fluid in the pocket with a tight shoulder rotation and quick release, he is even more dangerous on the move, throwing off platform and from differing arm angles. He is a shifty runner and deceptively fast on the move. Keep your eye on this guy, he is getting ready for a blowout season this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id='1466494' first='Kolton' last='Bonnel'], 6'1, 165, QB/K, Atchison, '26, ranked #70, is coming off an excellent junior season as a playmaker quarterback who was also an outstanding kicking specialist. As a QB he has a seamless throwing motion and exceptionally quick release. He gets rid of the ball as quick as anyone I have seen out of the shotgun in awhile. He zips quick laser beams in the short game, throws missiles on deep post and flag routes and has great ball placement on the long bombs down the seams. On the year he completed 90 of 159 passes for 1,686 yards, 57%, 26 TD's, four picks and a lofty 123.0 passer rating. He also averaged 30+ yards a punt and was a deep kickoff specialist who had seven touchbacks. He is poised and ready to take it to another level in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1236247' first='Sam' last='Harp'] , 5'10, 185, Andale '26, ranked #193, last, and certainly not least, we have an under-ranked stud QB with an edge on his counterparts above - he is one of that rare breed otherwise known as a State-Champion Quarterback. He led the Indians to an unbeaten year and the 3A title on the strength of his dynamic dual-threat game. On the season he scorched defenses for 1,870 yards and piled up 34 TD's despite usually playing half a game due to blow outs. On the ground he is brutally explosive and elusive in the open field, picking up 1,057 yards on only 101 carries and scored 21 TDs. In the air he was a precise 35 of 54 passes for 813 yards, 64%, 13 TD passes and zero picks. Goose egg. He is also an electric return man. This guy is going to be en fuego this fall.

In conclusion, these guys are going to be big-time exciting this fall, so get them on your watchlists if you haven't already. And, as always, if you know of any under the radar guys give me a shout via DM on X. Keep grindin'...
