With much of the event's groundwork already laid, it is time to discuss who-I-saw-do-what while at Sunday's Stock Up Showcase. Below are personal scouting notes from the action I witnessed.

Scout's Notes: Defensive Backs

The Stock Up Showcase was a bit thin in terms of the number of defensive backs attending, but [player_tooltip player_id='1284784' first='Logan' last='Direny'] looks like one I would want on my team. Direny had fast feet - fast feet which he accelerated very well on the break of the ball or when he read run. I was impressed with a number of reps that he took - and there were plenty. The flip-side of that coin is that he had some reps that were not impressive - likely because there were so many reps to be had.... Sticking with the theme of competitive spirit, [player_tooltip player_id='1276018' first='Jayden' last='Carter'] fit that mold well. Carter was a fierce competitor each time out. What made him an effective defensive back at the event was his patience. Rather than jumping the gun early, waits, reads, and attacks. Carter also has solid size to compliment his solid performance.

Closing out are two prospects that are on opposite sides of the same side of the coin. Coming from Delaware, Ashton Emerick did a nice job of covering in-cutting routes; however, he needs to be bit more aware of how much depth he is gaining when defending a post. One rep I happened to witness he got beat deep by letting the defender behind him.... The opposite of Emerick was [player_tooltip player_id='1574209' first='Alex' last='Finkelstein']. Finkelstein did a nice job of undercutting passes when playing trail technique. This led to him breaking up numerous pass attempts and intercepting his share of balls.
