Queen City Senior Bowl: Defensive Backs

The Queen City Senior Bowl is an annual All-Star game in the Charlotte Metro Area which honors 80 of the best football players from surrounding high schools. Proceeds from the game benefit the Metro School, which teaches and develops kids with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities. The game is in its 6th season of service to the Charlotte Community. This article will feature the Defensive Backs selected to play in the All-Star Game.    Currently holding an offer from Hampden-Sydney College, Tank is a talented defensive back who has very good long speed. On film, Tank shows good ball skills in 1 on 1 coverage as a cornerback. Tank excels in man coverage and can also contribute on offense as a running back and on Special Teams as a kick returner. Tank helped lead the Chargers to the 3rd round of the state playoffs this season.     Emmanuel is a corner who plays with incredible effort and desire. Emmanuel shows the speed to run with talented receivers and has some good coverage skills, especially in man coverage. I like how well Emmanuel can come up and tackle in space – both against wide receivers and in the running game with outside support.     Noah is a player who has an incredible motor and is fueled to be great. Noah is committed to play college football at Lenoir-Rhyne University, and Noah is a physical player who can excel in either man or zone coverage. Noah does a good job of making tackles and is an excellent blitzer from the slot defensive back position. Noah has helped lead the Lions to the 3A West state semifinals as they prepare to play Hickory for a shot at going to the state championship game.     Mark is a talented player who has had a special career at West Meck. Playing safety, Mark is an excellent tackler which comes from his experience playing linebacker. Mark exhibits excellent speed to play center field and be able to react to passes all over the field. Mark can also be dangerous on offense with the ball in his hands at running back.     Jahmir is a 6'1 180-Pound defensive back who is technically sound and shows excellent agility and footwork. Jahmir can play corner or safety, and he does well in run support, tackling well in space. Jahmir shows good ball skills, using his long frame to break up passes at the catch point when in coverage. Should be a recruiting steal for a school.     Elijah is a talented cover corner who is committed to Catawba College on the next level. Elijah excels in man coverage and is a ballhawk when the ball is coming his way. Elijah can also contribute on special teams as a returner. At 5'10 and 160 pounds, Elijah has excellent speed and has a great work ethic and overall attitude as a player.     Emmanuel is a Strong Safety/Outside Linebacker who stands at 5'11 and 185 pounds. Emmanuel currently has offers from Hampden-Sydney College and Averett University. Emmanuel does a good job of coming down in run support and making tackles on ball carriers. Emmanuel also does a great job in blitzing off the edge and being a disruptor.     Kemarion is a talented player who currently has offers from Towson, Shaw, Brevard, and Emory & Henry. At 6'1 and 165 pounds, Kemarion is a cornerback who has excellent speed. Kemarion does a good job with mirroring routes in man coverage with good footwork and agility. Kemarion can also make plays on offense as a wide receiver. Kemarion helped lead the Forest Hills program to the 4th round of the 2A West state playoffs this season.     Jaquairus is a safety who does a good job of affecting the game in multiple ways. At 5'10 and 165 pounds, I like how Jaquairus can come up in run support, as well as be an effective blitzer. Jaquairus has very good ball skills as well, picking up multiple interceptions this season. Jaquairus has recruiting interest & can definitely help a college team. Jaquairus has picked up a couple of offers from colleges since his season has ended.     Justin is a talented defensive back who can play both corner and safety. One of Justin's best traits is his speed – he has been timed at 4.44 seconds in the 40-yard dash. Justin currently has an offer from Wingate. Justin excels in being physical, coming up, and making strong tackles against wide receivers. Justin is excellent in coverage as well. Justin recently committed to play college football at Old Dominion University. Justin also helped lead the Mavericks to the 3rd round of the state playoffs this season.     At 5'10 and 165 pounds, Quay is a playmaker in the defensive backfield. Quay was an All-Conference selection last season, & he has made multiple Pick 6 interceptions this season, showing his very good ball skills. Quay also does a good job in both man and zone coverage schemes, showing an ability to read quarterbacks and react quickly. Quay has helped lead the Monroe program to the state semifinals where they are preparing to host Brevard with a bid to the state championship game on the line.     At 5'11 and 190 pounds, Sawyer is a physical safety prospect who is a very strong tackler. Sawyer does a great job of reading plays and getting to the ball with bad intentions. Sawyer can also play disciplined man & zone coverage and make interceptions, showing good ball skills. Sawyer can also help out some offensively at different positions. Sawyer helped lead the Pirates to the state playoffs this season.
