He absolutely dominated in 1 on 1s. Some of his reps were almost boring because the defensive linemen couldn't even get off the line. Connor is big, he's mean and has the technique to back it up. He tested well, dominated the positional drills and just flat out beat everyone that lined up across from him. He registered as an offensive lineman, but I see a TON of traits that make me think his ability translates so well to the defensive side of the ball. He moves well, has great motor and change of direction, and ran an impressive 5 second 40 time, which would place very high among the DLs in attendance. His testing numbers were fine, but 1 on 1s showed me everything I hoped I would see. He uses his big frame at nearly 320 to just anchor down and not be budged. He still has the ability an change of direction to shuffle and stay with someone, but as an interior lineman I love seeing him be able to really use his raw power. Complimented by a 4.9 shuttle and a 9' broad jump, he showed he has the physical tools to be very good! He did a great job in 1 on 1 drills using his long arms to reach defenders trying to speed around him and showed the strength to drive them out. Once again, his technique was 2nd to none to anyone in attendance. He has a great punch, he stays low and looks for opportunities to gain a leg up on the defender. As soon as the rusher made a move, he was able to figure out his best counter and executed it perfectly. Coming in, I knew Zack would perform well and he did once again. He tested fine with a 5.28 40 and a solid 8'7 broad jump, but his explosiveness and athleticism really shined in the abbreviated 1V1 period. Zack showed off great technique and footwork, typically driving guys out and not lunging or getting off balance. When defensive linemen bull rushed, he had no issues fighting back and driving them back to the line of scrimmage. His performance at Sunday's Stock Up Showcase was super inspiring. He ran a solid 4.66 40 time, but his broad jump was a 10'3! He showed off some route running and catching ability you don't often see from a young TE. I am really excited to hopefully deep dive his film in the coming months and give a full season highlight tape evaluation.
