Biggest surprise

No. 12 General Trass traveled south for back-to-back upset victories in the bracket often most heavily dominated by higher seeds. The Panthers are the lowest-seed to ever reach a Division-IV Non-Select semifinal in the current LHSAA playoff format and would mark the lowest seed to have reached a Class 1A semifinal since 2010.

Matchups to watch

The aforementioned dynamic General Trass duo of Davis and Williams racked up more than 300 yards this past week to lift the Panthers past Jeanerette. But Haynesville has allowed an average of just 8.25 points per game this season, led by seniors such as linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='914221' first='Keizavion' last='Woods'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1596587' first='Zykerius' last='Fielding'].

Overall storyline

Top-seeded Haynesville has appeared all season to be the team to beat in Division-IV Non-Select. But the Golden Tornado will have to stave off a surging underdog in General Trass that has show its meddle on the road against talented higher seeds in back-to-back weeks. South Plaquemines and Logansport meanwhile have looked dominant on the bottom half of the bracket.
