As we approach the final weeks of 2024, another week of high school football has come and gone in the state of Kentucky. With that being said, it is time to wrap up our coverage of this year's senior class with our final rankings update. While there were a ton of talented players in the class of 2025, we have narrowed it down to the top 250 players in the class. With that being said, I will be taking the next week or so to break down these final rankings by position, starting with the quarterbacks.

[player_tooltip player_id='735547' first='Jack' last='James'] exceeded his already high expectations during his senior year, earning him the top quarterback spot in the state in his class. He led Paducah Tilghman to a 4A State Championship while also leading the entire state in passing, completing 304/438 passes for 4,133 yards, 57 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in 15 games. James is a very accurate passer, showing the ability to fit passes into tight windows to hit his receiver where only they have a chance to catch it. He has also shown the arm strength to take the top off the secondary in the deep passing game. Jack also finished the season with 68 carries for 182 yards and eight touchdowns. James has signed to play at Troy where I see him having a great chance to be their quarterback of the future.

[player_tooltip player_id='340071' first='Deuce' last='Bailey'] continued to show that he is one of the top quarterbacks in the state this season, leading Bowling Green to another 5A State Championship. Bailey had a strong senior year, completing 208/313 passes for 3,183 yards, 45 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in 15 games. Deuce has a very strong arm which he uses to stretch the field in the deep passing game. He also has shown a great feel for pressure, showing the ability to escape the pocket when needed while keeping his eyes down the field to make tough throws on the run. Bailey also continued to showcase the ability to make plays on the ground, carrying the ball 68 times for 423 yards and five touchdowns. Deuce signed with Missouri State where I can see him being a very successful quarterback at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='373782' first='Brady' last='Atwell'] had put together another very impressive season this year, leading his team all the way to the 2A State Championship Game where they unfortunately fell short against Beechwood. As a senior, Brady completed 257/379 passes for 3,766 yards, 49 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 15 games. Atwell puts a nice amount of zip on the ball and is very accurate, showing the ability to fit passes into tight windows to hit his receivers in stride. He has also shown the arm strength to lead his receivers down the field in the deep passing game. Atwell also continued to show his true dual-threat ability as a senior, running the ball 90 times for 609 yards and 20 touchdowns. Brady is committed to play baseball at Western Kentucky but the talent is definitely there as a quarterback as he received some Division I football offers and interest.

[player_tooltip player_id='331739' first='Bryce' last='Button'] is a quarterback who has been high on our radar for a while now and continued to stand out as a senior. He led his team to the 5A State Championship Game where they fell short against Bowling Green, completing 212/303 passes for 2,853 yards, 39 touchdowns, and eight interceptions in 14 games. Button has one of the strongest arms in the state which he uses to stretch the field and hit his receivers in stride in the deep passing game. He also does a great job of going through his progressions to find the open receiver, even with pressure closing in on him. Bryce also ran the ball 69 times for 257 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior. Button signed with Eastern Michigan where I can see him having a successful career as a college quarterback.

To wrap up our top five quarterbacks in the class of 2025 in the state of Kentucky, I have [player_tooltip player_id='373049' first='Luke' last='Pennington']. Luke led Sayre to their first 1A State Championship this season, completing 211/281 passes for 2,939 yards, 53 touchdowns, and four interceptions in 15 games. Pennington put his strong arm on full display this season, showing the ability to lead his receivers down the field and hit them in stride in the deep passing game. He is also a very accurate passer, showing the ability to put the ball in a spot where only his intended receiver can catch it. Luke also scored five rushing touchdowns this season. Pennington is committed to Dayton where I can see him being their quarterback of the future.
